There really needs to be a moratorium on the creation of new agencies at both the state and federal level. We have more agencies than we need as it is. If a problem comes along, assign it to an existing agency, don’t create a new one.
Sort of like the bipartisan agreement Congress had in the GHWB/Clinton presidencies. Any new program someone created had to include a new means of paying for it instead of the general funds. Nowadays, it’s just spend spend spend.
Reagan had said when he was in office that he planned to spend everything he could so that incoming Democrats would be too broke to bloat government further. Of course, they just spent it anyway and racked up more debt. But, there it is.
Remember, if an agency is created to solve a problem, the agency has no interest in solving the problem, because that would mean the agency would go out of existence. Creating an agency to solve a problem means the problem, and the agency, will exist in perpetuity.
