Newt Gingrich: Trump Could Be ‘The Most Effective Anti-Left Leader in Our Lifetime’ (VIDEO)
Gateway Pundit ^ | 05/03/2016 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 05/03/2016 8:00:40 PM PDT by KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle

Newt Gingrich went on with Sean Hannity tonight after the Donald Trump’s Indiana blowout and after Ted Cruz suspended his campaign.

Newt argued that Donald Trump could be the “the most effective anti-left leader in our lifetime.”

Newt added that anyone who does not support Trump is supporting Hillary.

First of all, Donald Trump may turn out to be the most effective anti-left leader in our lifetime. He is against political correctness. He is against bureaucracy. He places American nationalism first which I think we desperately need. I’m tired of being told we have to phony agreements and phony efforts and I watch John Kerry rush from five-star hotel to five-star hotel trying to get a phony peace agreement that is an absurdity… I think Trump could be a return to a more of an Eisenhower kind of realism that none-the-less is conservatism. And he may do more to dismantle the left than anybody in our lifetime… The other side is, if you’re not for Donald Trump, you’re effectively for Hillary Clinton.

A president gets there by choosing some battles and leaving others to states acting on state rights.

The pattern for Republican presidents has been to leave these social issues to the states (well, except of course, for Democrat presidents) and to tackle federal issues of wars, nuclear proliferation, border invasion, national debt, legislative over reach.

Most states are governed by Republicans who can and should stand or fall on these hot button social issues.

I believe we’re not grasping that the billionaire class and their foundations have reached with tentacles into universities, made a home there and control the curriculum that pushes their interests.

Tie that together with their globalist influence, North American Union proclivities, climate change interests and these damn energy wind mills all over the country, together with the socialist/Marxist bent of the university instructors and my tagline serves as a guarantee for the future.

Liberation theology threading through the country is growing to prop up all of it. (Beck is no help from his end of the Dominionist spectrum either.)

You've been brainwashed.

Trump is on record for the past 30 years talking Conservatism.

There are youtube videos with Trump talking Conservatism going back to the 80s.

Trump is more of a Conservative than we've had in decades.

Cruz supporters fell into the trap long ago believing that "anybody other than Cruz isn't a Conservative."

By that logic, nobody else on the entire planet is worthy, or will ever be worthy, of the GOP nomination other than Ted Cruz.

Most people saw right through this. The overwhelming vote victories support this.

Much of what the left has put into government is impractical and a waste of money (pay off to pals). Trump is liable to get rid of a lot of these problems in order to “get things done right.” I don’t know that he thinks “left and right” as much as common sense and workable for the good of the US. That will favor conservatism.

Simply not true. The videos or writings are out there going back less than to the ‘80s showing Trump holding the opposite positions on amnesty, abortion, taxes and gun control to name a few.

I didn’t fall in that trap. Rick Santorum would’ve met my conservative credential test as well to name one. Newt Gingrich did last time as well.

The vote victories mean nothing as far as deciding who’s conservative. By that logic, McCain and Romney were the most conservative the last 2 times.

We need to be honest about who these people are, if you’re going to have any hope of influencing them and holding their feet to the fire once they’re elected. Bush got some criticism from the right during his tenure, including on the Harriet Miers court nomination. It’s the job of conservatives to hold all elected officials accountable.

I support Trump. I want him to continue the war against illegals, ending bad deals, replacing obamacare, putting America first, and ending a corrupt system.

That said, I think who a person supports is who they support. If someone supports the llibertarians doesn’t mean they support Clinton. It means they support the libertarian. Newt is wrong here. Mathematics...sure, one less vote for trump lowers his total number. But that is different than support. A person supports who they say they support.

Our job is to win them over. But I’ll not lie about their right to support who they want to support.

Executive orders are but a single tool and not even the best one. Lasting change can be done through Judicial appointments. Not just the SCOTUS, but federal Judgeships everywhere.

If conservative, common-sense judges are there to hear cases on “hate-speech” and faux discrimination suits, that would nullify some of the “political correctness” and victimhood culture out there. I like Judge Jeanine Pirro on FOX — a hundred like her in federal circuit courts would be a huge difference. AG Christie or Cruz would need to find ways to encourage retirements of liberal federal judges. I’m still ticked about liberal judges cancelling my vote on Prop 187 twenty years ago, which would have solved the illegal alien problem in CA and been a model for the country.

They can rule against these cases of gays suing because bakers and florists refuse to serve their weddings. Establish case law and precedents that nullify and ridicule this idea that people can be forced to serve other people. Reestablish the “right to refuse service to anyone”. Not for religious reasons (because the left has denigrated religion), but simply because slavery was outlawed over a century ago or that being forced to serve at a gay wedding constitutes sexual harassment.

Trump can also use the bully pulpit to expose college campuses that are not teaching but indoctrinating students in ideas that actively harm their future employability. Ridicule is a powerful tool, and encouraging students and parents to abandon those schools (as Mizzou enrollment is down 25%) will cause a reevaluation of those faculty and curricula. Awakened alumni councils and university Presidents can get those with tenure out of classrooms and fire those that can be fired.

Trump and a willing congress could do more — including disqualifying some courses of study from student loan eligibility and federal grants based on past failure of repayment of graduates in those degrees. We all talk about how kids graduating with “women’s studies”, “philosophy”, and “art” degrees can’t find a job, but some repayment statistics from graduates *by degree* could be devastating from the President’s bully pulpit. If students for those degrees dry up, the most liberal faculty will disappear. I forget where I read it recently, but it was well put: “College kids today seem to be majoring in ‘hobbies’ with no pragmatic value.” Those student loans are a bad gamble IMHO.

If Trump can really get the ball rolling on rebuilding our industrial base, students will see all the high-paying jobs are in real disciplines, anyway, and that will keep them out of the liberal lunatics’ classrooms.

Just a few ideas that I think are within the scope of what a President could affect in the realm of “political correctness”.
