Indiana steps into the national spotlight Tuesday with a primary election that could play a significant role in deciding Republican and Democratic presidential contests, as well as a spirited Senate GOP primary election and crowded races for Republican nominations in two U.S. House districts. Two state Senate Republican primaries also are drawing attention as Senate leaders try to fend off challenges.
Voters cast a record number of early ballots and high turnout is expected, especially in some heavily Republican counties in suburban Indianapolis.

HIGH TURNOUT
Early voting turnout has hit record highs with more than 270,000 people casting ballots ahead of the primary, according to the Indiana Election Division. Early voting totals through Sunday already were nearly 50 percent more than the states record for early voting set in the 2008 primary which featured the tight race between Barack Obama and Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Election Division Co-Director Angie Nussmeyer said she doesnt know whether the jump in early voting will mean higher turnout overall for the primary or shows more awareness of it as an option for voters. Higher turnout is anticipated in strongly Republican counties, such as Hamilton and Johnson counties in suburban Indianapolis.
About 62 percent of the applications for early or absentee voting have been for Republican ballots.

I think high early voting totals and a high turnout bodes well for Trump.
He has to go into the convention with 1237 plus delegates to even stand a chance. Even then, they may pull a some kind of procedural move to give the nomination one of their boys.
And I do not think Cruz is one of their boys.
Actual votes are usually bad news for Cruz
Go for it, Indiana!
Which candidate does very well with real elections with a high voter turnout?

I hope you are right but that may not be the case. I voted for Cruz in the Kentucky Primary but that was several weeks ago, things have changed. I liked him before he took up with the likes of Bush and Romney.
Now all I want is to keep Trump in as the last man standing. I'm convinced he will have about 1300 delegates going in but I hope that is enough after the GOPe steals many he has won or changes the rules to make them not matter.
Personally, I think we should go back to ONE DAY of voting, with only ‘in absentia’ ballots counted outside that one day. Early voting and all the other ways the Dems have manufactured using political correctness shaming are nothing but a way to manipulate the results. Voter fraud should be a guaranteed trip to prison.
that has been good news for Trump in other locales
Cruz and his PACs have been saturating the airwaves with anti-Trump ads. Last night they were continuous on every Indy TV channel. However, they are too late to change the many ballots already cast.
We’ll see if they have much of an effect today.
As an observation, Cruz signs are limited to the “sign farms” at intersections, while Trump volunteers have gone through the neighborhoods and planted them in yards.
