Stunning turnaround in Trump vs. Hillary matchup
WND ^ | 5/02/2016 | Bob Unruh

For months, Ohio Gov. John Kasich has been arguing that he should be the Republican nominee for president because polls show he would defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton in the general election while front-runner Donald Trump would lose.

Sen. Ted Cruz has made similar arguments, contending that to nominate Trump is to vote for Clinton.

They may want to develop a new argument.

A new Rasmussen poll shows Trump in the lead in a face-off with Clinton.

Beg to differ:

Last week, Rasmussen Reports gave voters the option of staying home on Election Day if Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the big party nominees, and six percent (6%) said that’s what they intend to do for now. Clinton and Trump were tied with 38% support each; 16% said they would vote for some other candidate, and two percent (2%) were undecided. But Trump edges slightly ahead if the stay-at-home option is removed. Trump also now does twice as well among Democrats as Clinton does among Republicans.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters finds Trump with 41% support to Clinton’s 39%. Fifteen percent (15%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

Yes, we know that. Thanks for the unnecessary reminder. The broader point is that Trump is gaining acceptance. Acceptance that, frankly, has never been expected. There was no intention of performing an electoral count with this poll, so we know, we know, we know the presidential race is a state by state contest.

You missed the entire point.

“John Kasich has been arguing that he should be the Republican nominee for president because polls show he would defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton...”

Who ever believed this? - except maybe those who would buy swamp land from the man.

“National polls mean bupkiss. It’s state by state ans the Electoral College. Like the primaries and caucuses. Representative Republic, not a Democracy.”

True. And that’s the problem the Republicans have. Any Democrat starts off with like 240 EV’s in the bag. Republicans can’t win in states like WI, MI, IL, OH, PA, MD, CO, CA, OR, WA or NV anymore because the huge urban population centers go like 80% for the Democrats no matter what and there just aren’t enough votes in the rural parts of the states.

The Trump can’t win line is garbage... He’ll wipe the floor with Hillary, it won’t even be close.

Hillary can’t even put Bernie down, she has no chance in hell against Trump.

Look, if your own base won't vote for you, what makes you think that the full voting population is going to vote for you?

The "Trump can’t win" line is garbage....agit-prop by Cruz/Kasich. Hillary can’t even put an old has-been commie like Bernie away. Trump’ll wipe the floor with Hillary, it won’t even be close.

Trump will have no compunction laying out the dirt on Hillary....and there's plenty of it.

Even more pertinent is what Trump will do to Bill (Hillary considers him her campaign's (gag) secret weapon).

Look for it----at the end of the campaign Bill Cosby and Bill Clinton's names are synonymous.

Kasich lives in dream land, Ohio should be apologizing to the nation for giving this guy a win there instead of closing out the primary 6 weeks ago.

The primary was over that night, but thanks to the Kasich win in OHIO it let the idiotic contested convention and other crap go on and dragged the primary season on for another 6 weeks needlessly.

Kasich isn’t a bad guy, but he never had any chance at the nomination, and for Ohio to just throw a temper tantrum like they did, shows me that long term, the GOP just needs to redefine the map and get Ohio out of the “must win” category, the place electorally is just too bi-polar.
