Stunning turnaround in Trump vs. Hillary matchup
WND ^ | 5/02/2016 | Bob Unruh

For months, Ohio Gov. John Kasich has been arguing that he should be the Republican nominee for president because polls show he would defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton in the general election while front-runner Donald Trump would lose.

Sen. Ted Cruz has made similar arguments, contending that to nominate Trump is to vote for Clinton.

They may want to develop a new argument.

A new Rasmussen poll shows Trump in the lead in a face-off with Clinton.

National polls mean bupkiss. It’s state by state and the Electoral College.

I see your point. But the popular vote almost always predicts the winner of the Electoral College. There are exceptions such as in 2000 with Bush/Gore but that was a very tight race with Gore getting 48.4% to Bush's 47.9%. I think you have to go back to 1824 for another example and that was a very close race too.

There is no example of a candidate being well ahead in the popular vote and not also winning the electoral college vote. That's probably why we see so many national polls.

No. I’d explain in detail, but understand that 21st century politics is not the same as 1989 politics. Liberals are not the same thing as the contemporary Transnational Progressives. Compared to Tranzis, 1989 liberals are just cute and cuddly.

So, we’d end up with 2 liberal democrats running for president.

Easy junior this sounds like defeatist like TDS blather and will get you shown the door. Time to be positive and march forward, not be a ninny nanny pessimist.

Since 2012, I have paid much less attention to polls. I remember Rasmussen Reports, November 5, 2012.

The truth is that we will not know how the November election goes until it is all over.

Trump has to be stopped.

Boehner has job security for life.
Ryan has job security for life.
Christie, Jeb, Rubio, and Lindsey Graham all have job security for life.

If Hillary wins, that won’t change, so the insiders are okay with Hillary. If Cruz or Trump wins, that will change. Trump must be stopped.

How about we nominate Kasich instead? Governor Kasich is a big government liberal, so he would be harmless. Plus, he’s so dull that no one would vote for him. Hillary would win, and she’d protect job security for all the insiders who messed up our country over the past 28 years.

Trump has to be stopped.

She’ll refuse to debate him because he’s a racist, bigoted homophobe, and an enemy of the people.

“So, we’d end up with 2 liberal democrats running for president.”

Trump is regularly called a racist, a fascist, a Nazi, a hater, a misogynist, a clown and every other insult.

Just yesterday he was called an @$$hole and a fascist on the Chris Matthews show.

Calling him a liberal Democrat is just one more insult.

Trump is far from perfect. But he is the best candidate we have.

The thing about Trump is he has been honest and revealing about his past. Love or hate him he has been a thread in the American fabric for decades. Hillary, on the other hand, has spent her life hiding her misdeeds. It will be easy for Trump to expose her. Her closet is overflowing and Trump is going to blow a hole in the wall.

Trump has stated, on numerous occasions, running against Hillary will be “fun.” Personally, I can’t wait.

I'll vote for him over Hillary, but what a sad statement your post ends with.

My point is that the trump fanboys don't consider his life long liberalism. They are so mad at the GOPe they are going to elect a DIMe who talks tough on immigration but has already signaled that he's willing to change.

One of the reasons the GOPe doesn’t like The Donald is that he DOES fight back. They just don’t *do* that. Wouldn’t be prudent and all that. Biggest bunch of wimps ever. Hopefully he will infuse some spine into them by his example.

The closer Hillary gets to the Presidency, the more terrified sane people become. I only worry that the sleazy dems will pull a last minute revolt and put Biden or some other semi-electable dem in her place.

Obama will do anything to protect the commie slide he forced on all of us.

Election laws don’t matter.

Of course, they could just hack the voting machines and rig the election.

I’m scared for this country.

“My point is that the trump fanboys don't consider his life long liberalism.”

Trumps past positions do concern me. Part of it can be explained by the fact that in the past he needed to protect his businesses and keep on the right side of politicians.

Almost all businessmen are forced to keep liberal politicians happy especially in a place like NYC.

Trump has spoken out against Obama many times.

Trump has spoken of the need to secure the border, interrogate terrorists and fight terrorism, prevent paying to bring hundreds of thousands of unvetted Muslims into America. He has spoken of the need to protect American jobs and make American businesses more competitive.

He has spoken about the need to control federal spending and reduce the deficit.
he has spoken of the need to have a foreign policy that protects American interests and not engage in failed nation building. He has spoken of the need to undo the terrible rules of engagement for our military.

If Trump was able to do even some of this he would be the best president since Reagan.

Finally, Trump stands up for his positions and principles. He does not back down and apologize like most Republicans do.

Is Trump perfect? No. But he will stand up to the globalists, jihadists and politically correct leftists that most Republicans are afraid to confront.

“I sincerely hope they do, because the Bernites will go ballistic. “

They will anyway when the DNC “steals” it for Hillary. Some will be so pissed the refuse to vote, the rest will opt for the only outsider left. Trump.

Remember when the polls were favorable to Romney right before the 2012 election and it looked really good for the GOP? Then Obama won in a rout. Of course, the polls don’t take into account election-day manipulation of the voting machines.

Things are looking up once again for the good guys, but when you’re dealing with the Democrats you can expect a long and nasty campaign with its share of dirty tricks.
