Several activist groups who have received funds from the federal government helped organize the May Day anti-Trump demonstrations in Los Angeles.
Most nonprofit groups are prohibited by law from engaging in partisan political activity. However, according to the Daily Caller, it's difficult to say if any of the groups violated the law.
Whether they violated the law depends on their nonprofit classification. If the groups are classified 501(c)(3), they are allowed to participate in "voter education" activities. No doubt, the nonprofits involved in this demonstration would claim that's what they were doing. But they have nothing to worry about. Does anyone believe that the IRS would actually investigate them? I thought not.

If you review even minimal history you will know that these tactics are basic to dictators when they attempt to steal a country or overthrow a legitimate candidate for public office. It happens all the time. It cannot be allowed to happen here or we become Hitler’s Germany, Stalin’s Russia, Mao’s China or Castro’s Cuba. We are on the verge boys and girls. We are on the verge.
Our Federal Government funds and supports many groups, in many different ways, that in turn support Fed.gov statist, progressive agenda.
Many receive grants from various agencies for “education” and “outreach” while others use the courts to sue the Federal Government for particular policies, while the government pays “settlements” to such groups. The Sierra Club is expert in this, I believe.
Yup. Gettin’ rich by gaming the system while remaining within the guidelines and requirements. We’ve done it to ourselves. Or at least allowed our “representatives” in d.c. to do it.
Liberals and progressives organize to protest Trump, yet there are still FReepers who insist (without providing evidence) that Trump is a liberal Democrat progressive?
Doesn’t the fact that the left is throwing tantrums over soon-to-be President Trump provide enough evidence that Trump is actually the conservative he has shown us he is for the last few decades?
