Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is standing his ground in his belief that allowing transgender people to use the bathroom of their choice "opens the door for predators," dismissing criticism from Caitlyn Jenner, who mocked him over the issue last week.

“Shouldn’t this be a thing the business owner or local government decide?”

Any level of government shouldn’t be able to tell a business who should use their bathrooms. That we are even having this discussion should be a huge clue that we are way beyond crippled as a healthy society.

Trump should be able to choose whatever he wants. I personally don’t think it will be good for society. But hey it’s his business. I mean if we are at the point where we need a law to protect women from choosing to use bathrooms where obvious men who might still be attracted to women can use, we are done anyhow I reckon.

I am not sure what the law aims to do except offer a recourse in the event that a tranny goes into a bathroom and exposes himself to a woman or girl. If that happened would that not be an actionable offense anyway?

I am sure the minuscule portion of the population that suffers from this mental illness have been going into women's rooms for a very long time. If they go into a stall and squat to pee, no problem. It is unlikely that they are even noticed.

The video is funny in that Tapper has a flub and calls him “Caitlyn Gender”... then quickly says Jenner

too funny

I don’t like how most people, including Cruz, keeps making it about little girls and male predators - when it can very easily be about boys or young male teens and women predators in their bathroom? It’s not unheard of with female teachers, or moms of teens - it makes the news every so often.

I know the real issue is adults or children/teens encouraged by adults or media or school who think God made a mistake in their gender. God is never wrong.

Absolutely.

But what about guys who know they would never cut it as far as appearance, but just want to be excited to be in there, but who didn’t go in there before because someone might complain and then he would be punished or expelled or whatever?

I agree, but if they expose themselves, there are generally laws against that sort of sexual exposure. A woman would have to complain, but in most instances the act of exposure is a crime, even in a public restroom.

Dude, it’s not about exposing themselves. It’s about women knowing and having to be comfortable with doing their business with men who are attracted women being in there. Why should they have to be down with that? And look, I guess lot of women are down for that, fine.

But I don’t think Lesbians have things like glory holes, or wide stances in women’s bathroom. That seems to men territory, right?

The other side of the coin is that most men don’t want Caitlyn Jenner in the men’s room, either.

Well, I am going to vote for Trump, but I might be interested in Trump appointing Cruz the Public Restroom Czar.

*President Trump.

*Public Restroom Czar Cruz.

Now there is something I can get behind.

Soooooo disappointed that I read the title wrong.

This is how I had read it:

Ted Cruz Takes On Caitlyn Jenner On Transatlantic Flight

I would have paid to see Caitlyn in silk chiffon and kitten heels take down Lyin Ted.

“Trump appointing Cruz the Public Restroom Czar”

I doubt Ted’s got much of a future in the short term. If he doesn’t pull this off he’s going to be on an island just like Rubio. He’ll have to start all over again, co-sponsoring bills that have no gravitas, just to keep his Senate seat.

He can forget ever being on the Supreme Court. He’s got the legal knowledge to be great, but he will never be confirmed even if the GOP holds the Senate. Those long knives of all the people he stepped on on his way to the primaries will be waiting for him. It would be a death fight for the DEMs and he can’t expect any GOP Senators to fight for him.

If I were him, I would find a good law group, become a partner and make his fortune doing what he’s best at.

One of the things Trump mentioned at the time was the cost of adding extra bathrooms... I think his first response was from an “Owner of a Construction Company”...

Trump’s a good man, but he’s still fairly new to politics. Besides he’s human - he won’t be right about everything... just like Cruz won’t be wrong about everything. Or us for that matter...

I don’t know. Trump has the same policy as Target, or am I missing something here?

that’s why i’m not to concerned with Trump’s response. He was right. Building a third bathroom would destroy small businesses.

and there hasn’t been a lot of incidents related to it.

BUT Target letting men, dressed like men, go into the bathrooms, he should come out and say that’s drawing the line.

even my most left of acquaintances doesn’t like that idea.

trump likely won’t walk it back because I’m sure his businesses get many investments from both gay groups and liberals who support gay issues- I don’t see him walking it back-

He did point out the prohibitive cost/punishment of having to change bathroom set up. I took this to mean he didn’t want the state forcing anyone to have to make these changes.

But he said Bruce Jenner could use any bathroom he wanted in his buildings. Like his women customer’s are obvious down with that. Ok, are they?

I don’t agree with this transgendered nonsense but I find it very difficult to believe that businesses are going to set up inspections of everyone ensuring they are the right sex they say they are. If I owned a business, would I stop Jenner as dressed today as a woman? Not sure at all I would stop the bathroom choice. It’s a terrible position for businesses to be in.
