Anyone want to predict Cruz’s future after this?
This might be the music Cruz will hear in his mind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U43Ate3Itjs
They could care less about public opinion. But they don’t want to be left on the outside if Trump gets into the White House.
This isn’t democracy. It’s kabuki theater. It’s a shell and pea game. God, I miss the days when Americans would take to the barricades in defense of the republic. Now, no amount of dogs barking has any effect on the caravan.
Everyone in the GOP knows this race is over, except Cruz (in denial) and Kasich (delusional).
Good!
In the end, the people are finally going to win because we are being led by a winner.
but Trump derangement syndrome is just to a whole other level
I never understood the complete insanity the vitriol attacks on Trump especially by people that were supposedly on our side.... total craziness.... I get that Trump can be seen as a moderate conservative or even a moderate...but to the Trump hater they actually do seem to believe he is really is Hitler and seem to be willing the do anything to stop.him no matter what the cost
it's almost like reverse Obama ism where is Obama Believers take the blanks slate to protect all their hopes and dream
Trump haters project all their irrational fears and Trumps becomes whatever they fear and hate the most that's why the right Trump hater see him as left and the left Trump hater see.him is right
but the truth is what they fear is Trump is an American nationalist and a threat to internationalism and globalist thinking in the US... many on the right have been co-opted by globalism without realizing it
And its going be a battle to see who can earn the support of a majority of the delegates elected by the people. — Ted Cruz.
So if those delegates weren't elected by the people, they'll be tossed aside, right Senator Cruz? Unless, you, umm, ‘misspoke’ again.
He will.
But the never in the Never Trump movement is beginning to look more like a reluctantly. Im not in the anybody-but-Trump campaign, said Jim Poolman, a delegate from North Dakota. Im in the anybody-but-Hillary campaign. |
Yes, it is true that most delegates become unbound after the first vote and can vote for whomever they choose once they fulfill their first ballot obligation (to support the actual winner).
However, that cuts both ways. They can just as easily switch their second ballot commitment AWAY from Cruz and back to Trump if they conclude that Trump is the rightful nominee. And if Trump was to roll into the convention with 1200 delegates and Cruz is only around 600, than that's not a very difficult decision to make.
Back when Cruz started doing all this "delegate wrangling", it seemed possible that we would have a convention similar to 1976 when both Ford and Reagan entered with over 1,000 delegates each. However, Trump's massive victories in the past six contests have pretty much settled the matter - Trump is going to go into the convention HUNDREDS OF DELEGATES ahead of Cruz.
So all those wined and dined delegates that pledged to Ted that they would go for him on a second ballot have to be having second thoughts now that it is clear that Ted is going to be at least 600+ delegates AWAY from the majority he would need to get nominated.
Tide is already starting to turn. Check out what happened in Massachusetts yesterday when the Cruz people tried their delegate wrangling parlor tricks.
Propelled by USA Fracked and Pumped oil
just watched Cruz on Chris Wallace Fox News Sunday
DESPERATE ! he’s fallen to complete snarkiness
I really feel sorry for him . Flailing
First newspaper to say Cruz is not eligible to win...
The choice between Cruzifer and Trump has become a no brainer over the past several weeks. I was a Cruz fan at one time. Now he is unbearable to listen to anymore!
Trump is better off with Cruz delegates than with establishment delegates. Trump should have done the choosing, but he didn’t bother, and after that unacceptable oversight I’m okay with Cruz doing the job. At least the Cruz delegates are likely to be genuine conservatives who care more about beating Hillary than they care about maintaining the establishment in power. And, no, Cruz is not establishment, as any honest observer can confirm by checking his voting record.
Go ahead and hate Cruz if that entertains you - it’s a popular and fun hobby. But I voted Trump five days ago, and I’m glad someone outside the establishment has been picking the Trump delegates.
When Trump is inaugurated, I’ll keep a watchful eye on Trump because I don’t trust him 100% (I didn’t trust Reagan 100% either, but he came close and I hope Trump will eventually earn that trust too). If something happens to 69 y/o Trump, I expect Cruz to get the nomination, and I’ll vote for Ted Cruz. I do not want “President Hillary”! Again, in that unlikely event, I’ll keep a watchful eye on Cruz because I don’t trust him 100%.
After Trump wins the nomination I fully expect Cruz to go third party....
Cruz will be damn lucky to go into Cleveland with HALF the delegates of Trump. He will need to double his support from the establishment to offset the ass beating he got from actual voters.
People are now wise to this and are moving towards Trump to prevent Lying Ted’s Scorched earth campaign.
