Donald Trump Leads Cruz by 15 Points in Crucial Indiana Race
NBC ^ | 5/1/2016 | Mark Murray

Donald Trump holds a 15-point lead over Ted Cruz in the potentially decisive May 3 presidential primary race in Indiana, according to results from a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll.

Trump gets support from 49 percent of likely Republican primary voters — followed by Cruz at 34 percent and John Kasich at 13 percent. If that margin in Indiana holds on Tuesday, Trump would be on a glide path towards obtaining the 1,237 delegates he needs to win the Republican nomination on a first ballot at the GOP convention in July.

In Indiana, there are three delegates for each congressional district. They are bound to the winner of that district. There are 27 outside delegates that are bound for the winner of the vote statewide. Now for the second or third conventional vote? I dont know.

Pretty straight foreward, and a type of system I would favor nationwide. It reflects the electoral college in a way. Do away with the second or third conventional vote and make it the candidate with the most delegates wins at the convention.

Rafael’s VP doesn’t seem to have impressed them.

Maybe he should have announced his cabinet choices too.

538’s “Can you get Trump to 1237” calculator is a lot easier now.

It starts at 957, but when you click “Follow the Experts” it adds an average of projections for remaining contests, minus outliers. That gets you to 1211! Only 26 more needed.

Here’s the thing: that only includes 17 for PA, and Trump will pick up as many as 42 of the 54 unbound delegates.

That would put Trump at 1253 for the first ballot.

Nate Silver is certainly not a Trump fan, so there is no wishful thinking here.

I just wish I had such a neat garage. Of course, then what would I do with a Navigator, a canoe, and two lawn mowers?

“If Trump wins by that margin, Cruz will likely choose another VP.

This morning, Cruz said that the contest is between Trump and Tyson vs Cruz and Carly and Pence.

After Indiana, where will Cruz’s next final stand be?

Rorke's Drift?

"Cruz is becoming totally ridiculous and sleazy."

The word that comes to mind for me is smarmy.

He lost CA the moment tag teamed with Carly. We hate that women for what she did to HP and the tech industry. She invented outsourcing.

Historically obscure but yet still funny. Will they be serving Henry Martinis at the bar there?

You have to be careful how many you have. They have a real kick.

I’ve been thinking along this line too.

A Trump sweep in Indiana may deflate the remaining Cruz supporters such that Trump actually wins Nebraska and maybe even Montana.

Need to do the math, but Trump may actually get to 1237 without California?

Can’t believe they’d even publish it. THeir motto seems to be “keep polling til you get the answer you want, or just make it up”.
