Target Stocks Sink by $2.5 Billion in 10 Days as over 1 Million Americans pledge to Boycott them
Freedom Outpost ^ | 4/30/2016 | Tim Brown

Target's stocks are imploding as over 1 million people have now signed the boycott pledge against the company for its bathroom and changing room policy to allow members of both sexes and those who are confused about their gender.

Tim Wildmon, president of the American Family Association, the organization that hosts the petition, said that there were nearly 75 people per minute who were adding their names to the petition.

"That's a million families who are going to spread the word about Target, so they may not get those customers back," Wildmon said.

Target's "management is just going to have step up here [and] say 'We're selling hammers and hats, we're not into social engineering,'" he added.

Breitbart reports:

The boycott was announced April 20 by the association, one day after Target revealed its decision to favor its few transgender customers and staff over the rest of the population. A study of the 2010 census data suggests that only about 1 in 2,400 adults change their names to match names used by the other sex.

Wildmon's association wants to affirm people's privacy in bathrooms and changing rooms, but also to block the progressives' multi-front push to stigmatize and outlaw any recognition of the average differences between women and men, and between boys and girls. The LGBT agenda "is being rammed down people's throats, and people are losing their jobs because of it, and it is becoming so that you can't think differently from these people or you're [called] a hater or a bigot," he said.

Since the decision was announced, numerous comments, articles, and videos protesting the store's one-sided decision have gone viral. Public opinion has moved and hardened in opposition to the previously bizarre notion of dual-sex bathrooms and changing rooms, and Target's brand as a family friendly store has taken a hit, as the online conversation shifted from its claim of "cheap chic" to worries of privacy, sexual predators, and the anger at the company's disregard for the reasoned judgement of its middle-class customers.

"This is how people can fight back — they're not going to shop at Target," said Wildmon.

Of course, Target doesn't want anyone to know about the plethora of sex crimes associated with its stores in light of their bathroom policy. Some try and push an agenda about women who mutilate their bodies and pump them full of hormones to appear as men and ask, "Do you want this person to use the women's room?" However, the reality is that is just a ploy for the perverts to walk casually into the restroom to molest, rape and exploit women and children. In other words, this entire thing is the LGBT agenda that is being used to overturn the law and allow the lawless to dictate standards.

However, Target is going to pay a steep price for their immorality. In fact, they already are. Since the boycott was announced, the company's stock lost $4.87 per share. Lest you think that is a small number. That's a nearly $2.5 billion hit and 5.8 percent in just 10 days!

AFA has stated that Target could simply solve the problem they have brought on themselves. "One solution is a common-sense approach and a reasonable solution to the issue of transgendered customers: a unisex bathroom," wrote Wildmon. "Target should keep separate facilities for men and women, but for the trans community and for those who simply like using the bathroom alone, a single occupancy unisex bathroom option should be provided."

Wildmon not only encourages people to sign the pledge, but also to contact Target and let them know you've gotten involved and taken action. Call Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680.

This is how you do it America! If you want to teach corporations that sponsor immorality, you have to hit them in the pocketbook. They understand money, and shaming them and depriving them of money is a good lesson in humility for Target and other companies that promote the sexual deviancy of the sodomite agenda.

Not trying to convince MYSELF of anything.

I'm trying to explain to the Lemmings that their group think isn't based in reality.

Everyone is so excited about "success" based on a nitwits article, they go running and cheering, thinking they are winning.

The facts are that sector of the market is dropping. Sears Holding, owners of Sears and Kmart took a 9.33% dive the last 5 days. JCP did a 3.93% drop.

Looking at stock prices dos'nt reflect the POS revenues.

Anyone referring to stock prices at this time, to prove their point, is a fool.

Want to hit them harder, review your 401k and remove any mutual funds that contain them.

How does that hurt them???

You divest of their stock. Someone else invests.

In order for you to get rid of the stock, you need to sell it to someone.

This boycott is an American thing. There are 319 million people in the US.

7 BILLION in the world.

You can sell your stock off if you want, for your own peace of mind. But for you to do that, you need to SELL it and someone else needs to BUY it.

There are plenty of people willing to buy it in Europe or Asia.
People who don't care whether your divesting because of principle.

All these years, I thought the purpose of a business was to provide services and products to customers at a price they were willing to pay.

Silly me.

Now, I know that the purpose is to assume the position for the small percentage of sexually cross-wired folks whose entire life is fixated on pushing their cross wiring on the rest of us...who really do not give a sh...er...Obama what they do in their bedrooms.

As for Target, adios.

Does 2% of the population translate into MILLIONS of them? Or are their supporters being included?

Some idiot at Target needs to be fired! Lost stock market value is a big deal.

Wonder if this will serve to deter other businesses ready to jump in the social justice clown car.

As an investor, I can assure you that the value of one’s stock portfolio is “actual money.”

Keep it up, folks. Do not relent. And extend it to any other corporations who’ve said “screw you” to conservatives. I know this isn’t always possible (sometimes an entire field is dominated by libs), but if you have a choice, just say no to corporate liberalism.

I tend to think you are correct, at least right now. We’ll see, I suppose. I suppose we could always come back to this thread in 3 month intervals or so to see how it’s going. Something like this is going to be pretty easy to determine one way or another, given enough time.

I recently went to a Target store. I was able to park up front. Inside was quiet. Aisles were wide. Merchandise was all neatly displayed. There were no lines at checkout lanes.

I’m normally an avid Walmart shopper. Their customers face just the opposite of above. After a few minutes of confusion at Target I realized the difference. There were only a few cars in the parking lot. I counted seven customers wandering around the store pushing empty carts. Pricing of various products seemed about 30 to 50% higher than Walmart. Checkers were socializing with each other.
I couldn’t find safety pins I went in for so I left.

It was an weird experience. Then I remembered that I had not been in a Target store for about 30 years. I find it hard to believe there are a million Target “customers” protesting this rest room situation. Sounds more like a PR plot stunt. Right up there with global warming/cooling, saving polar bears, end of the world on ____ date. You know, like the latest “cause” Celebes jump on. There just can’t be that many transgender freaks to worry about. Lots of businesses now have family rest rooms now. Just change the sign to “Others”. The world will keep on turning and Target will keep on being ghost stores.

Too right. Companies should be in business to sell product, not to interfere with customer’s lifestyles (and safety). When Target refused bell ringers from the Salvation Army at Christmas, I took it as a slam against Christianity...and there is an anti-Christian movement going on, and I seldom entered their stores thereafter. Now that they are taking this stand on transgenders I am totally finished with them. There are transgenders out there, there is insanity out there, there are violent people out there, there is ethnic diversity out there, there are other religions out there...live and let live, but don’t pander to any one group using that guise to promote anti Christianity.

Exactly.

3 months would be a good indicator

We have no way of knowing what the Point Of Sales are doing right now.

We do know the market sector is dropping.

So, do you have a reliable source that demonstrates why the stock took the dive? I think you are speculating as to the reason.

Who's the one speculating???

The article is trying to tie Targets stock drop to the boycott.

The stock drop isn't responding because of POS revenues, because nobody but maybe the higher ups would know that.

Secondly, we've watched 4 of the major players all take hits (larger hits) in the last 5 days. That would indicate more of a market sector adjustment vs one company.

This is the internet. Three months may as well be 30 years in internet time, at least as far as usual attention spans.

This is one of those issues where we will know the truth eventually, if we can only remember to think about it.

I’m aware, but make no mistake the boycott is part of the puzzle. Let’s just see the next earnings report.
