20 arrested as crowd turns violent outside rally in California
Hundreds of demonstrators filled the street outside the Orange County amphitheater where Donald Trump held a rally Thursday night, stomping on cars, hurling rocks at motorists and forcefully declaring their opposition to the Republican presidential candidate.
Traffic came to a halt as a boisterous crowd walked in the roadway, some waving American and Mexican flags. Protesters smashed a window on at least one police cruiser, punctured the tires of a police sport utility vehicle, and at one point tried to flip a police car.
About five police cars were damaged in total, police said, adding that some will require thousands of dollars’ worth of repairs.
“Dump the Trump,” one sign read. Another protester scrawled anti-Trump messages on Costa Mesa police cars.
“I’m protesting because I want equal rights for everybody, and I want peaceful protest,” said 19-year-old Daniel Lujan, one of hundreds in a crowd that appeared to be mostly Latinos in their late teens and 20s.
“I knew this was going to happen,” Lujan added. “It was going to be a riot. He deserves what he gets.”
Video footage showed some anti-Trump demonstrators hurling debris at a passing pickup truck. One group of protesters carried benches and blocked the entrance to the 55 Freeway along Newport Boulevard, with some tossing rocks at motorists near the on-ramp.
By 10:15 p.m., the bedlam had largely subsided and Lt. Mark Stichter of the Orange County sheriff’s department said no major injuries were reported.
Costa Mesa police confirmed that 17 people — 10 males and seven females — were arrested on suspicion of unlawful assembly. Details on the ages and names of those arrested were not released.

The leader sets up his own protection squadron.
Wasn’t an election. It went with the territory for union organizers. Company goons would bust up their rallies, and then the police would move in to arrest them for inciting a riot. You may not like unions, but for all intents and purposes, they were doing the same thing to Trump’s supporters. Ironically, I would bet that the perps this time were union goons.
So I was right. Btw, I know about the union stuff.
Hardly a state secret, that. Just history being repeated with another hat on.
But it history hasn’t repeated to my knowledge. That’s why I asked you what Presidential election did that occur. We’re talking about what happened in Costa Mesa over front runner candidate who never held office previously. I don’t think that has ever happened in modern America.
True. The only time anything remotely similar happened that I know of was when they had to smuggle Lincoln into Washington for his inauguration, to avoid an assassin. The fact that I’m drawing a parallel between a presidential candidate and union-related violence from the old days is appalling, but the shoe fits.
Not only is America degenerating into a thugocracy, but Some of the thugs aren’t even there legally. They are the best argument for POTUS Trump.
I think that was the inauguration after reelection while Lincoln was at war with of enemies. Remember, Trump was never elected, never even served in office. And that is what makes this so alarming as well as historical. Violent mobs are actually physically assaulting innocent people over a presidential candidate who was never in power.

Also historical and affirming. Trump might as well as have hired these bruisers (conspiracy theories in 3...2...1...), like FDR the Japanese. They’ll get him even more votes if they keep it up, unless they’re going to follow people into the ballot booths and man handle them.

It’s more than a local violent mob.
There are a large percentage of Hispanics in SoCA who are extremely hateful of Trump or anybody who condones his positions. Many of these are US citizens, but have familial ties to illegals or 1st generation immigrants who came over illegally. From their perspective, they were looking for work anywhere on the continent, and in many cases took 5-15 years with multiple tries to get established here. They tend to be service workers or entrepreneurs, but tend to respect El Hefe more than inalienable rights.
While they might be generally conservative, they’ll vote Democrat thinking Democrats care more about the poor man or looking for what’s in their allegiance for themselves.
Many still believe adamantly in becoming a US citizen, means they speak English, and adapt to US culture, there are just as many who will adapt to both sides of the border.
The nutty thing is that CA also has extreme Black cultures and extreme Asian cultures, which generally refuse to ever work with one another.
The other nutty thing is that the entire premise asserting a return to “Mexican” racial control, can also be used to imply they must surrender ownership of all their property and return to a Latin / Spanish kingdom ownership of all property, which is only available to the poor man by means of feudal grants from the King. Spanish dominion over the area has far greater historical possession than Mexican dominion.
If not for US intervention and Treaty of Hidalgo, they would still only have land grants and not title deeds of ownership as standard property rights.
Are you in CA?
You don’t have to infiltrate or put yourself in danger to find out names, addresses and transactions. Transportation—who organizes it? Buses must be ridden, cars must be parked. Not everything is a subway. These people get regular meals—who prepares them, who distributes them. Take pictures of merchandise being handed out—it’s the same as cash. “Soros does it”—is not enough. Photograph the minions, the supervisors.
Where do they go to the bathroom? There’s another logistical problem—do they go to local businesses? A mob must be taken care of—someone is doing the animal husbanding.
You’re brilliant and right. All that’s needed is someone to start surveilling the logistics of this mob, and compiling intel. Should have been done to OWS back then, and ACORN even further back. It’s no longer enough to sit around on FReep and say what ought to be done. We need a “committee on correspondence”.
There will be arrests and assaults. Those assaulted can file an "intentional tort" lawsuit against the perp. Then depo and discovery -- names, faces and addresses of the ringleaders, who are now liable for conspiracy to assault and terroristic threat. Then they will turn against the next higher up. Bingo. Class action. Lawyers should already be doing this, because there's money in it. Except the ugly woman is probably a lawyer.
Hope she’s retained to defend the scumbags. Then if she’s caught, say, suborning perjury, she’ll be disbarred.
