Which begs the question: Who is he going to pick as his vice presidential nominee?
The short answer: No one knows. Trump relishes being unpredictable so trying to game out how this most unconventional of politicians will make his mind up is a bit of a guessing game. Add to that the fact that Trump's inner circle remains, largely, devoid of establishment types and you quickly get into a situation where the people talking don't know much and the people who do know aren't talking.

I could see him picking a relatively unknown military officer.
I have to think it is Huckabee at the moment. He was the earliest to get out and back Trump.
Rubio probably number two to add a little more youth and maybe go for some more Latino voters.
Christie/Giuliani/Newt/Palin - These seem to be the inner circle. Probably all will have cabinet positions.
Allen West has been on my mind as a running mate for Trump.
He loves the military, West has political experience and I think Trump would appreciate his friendliness with Palin, who I think he’ll have in his inner circle, as well as Newt. But no also rans. A minority would be beneficial and its NOT pandering when your as accomplished as West. I sincerely hope he’s being vetted and has no “issues”.

Trump should pick either a VP or Chief of Staff who knows the system inside and out, but is known as a troublemaker. I’d say Maverick but then people would think I want McCain.
It’s so hard to find someone who is an insider but not infected by the disease of Washington.

Guys like Tom Cotton and Dave Brat are too new to be super helpful, Thomas Sowell is too old and doesn’t like Trump anyway. Newt would be great.
