Just over a week ago I was standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon and was lost in wonder at the magnificence of my God who saw fit to plan that moment for me eons and eons before I was born.
A patient God who created the universe in less than a second (Big Bang) and who carefully took 15 billion years to fashion the world I know (just seven days to Him, of course) is to me a far greater God than some deceiver who would try to fool people into thinking that an ageless Creator has to hurry to keep up with OUR timetable.

Just more evidence of people thinking that they/we are the focus, rather than God. God’s time is not our time.
Yes, God is big enough for a big, old universe. I don’t think God went around planting fossils as a practical joke or as some test of faith.
I say the GC was formed a few thousand years ago, after a worldwide cataclysmic flood that was God’s judgment on a sinful human race.
I also say that Jesus died on a cross, 2000 years, when His Father punished His Own Son for the sins of the human race.
