AT LAST, AMERICA FIRST!
WND ^ | 4-28-16 | PATRICK J. BUCHANAN

Posted on 04/28/2016 4:29:47 PM PDT by dynachrome

Whether the establishment likes it or not, and it evidently does not, there is a revolution going on in America.

The old order in this capital city is on the way out. America is crossing a great divide, and there is no going back.

Donald Trump’s triumphant march to the nomination in Cleveland, virtually assured by his five-state sweep Tuesday, confirms it, as does his foreign policy address of Wednesday.

Two minutes into his speech before the Center for the National Interest, Trump declared that the “major and overriding theme” of his administration will be – “America first.” Right down the smokestack!

Gutsy and brazen it was to use that phrase, considering the demonization of the great anti-war movement of 1940-41, which was backed by the young patriots John F. Kennedy and his brother Joe, Gerald Ford and Sargent Shriver, and President Hoover and Alice Roosevelt.

Whether the issue is trade, immigration or foreign policy, says Trump, “we are putting the American people first again.” U.S. policy will be dictated by U.S. national interests.

Under the disaster known as George “W” Bush, the U.S. became obligated to defend this group of deadbeats: Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia that are in no way or shape critical to America’s interests..

Greece is second to the USA - Bankrupt Greece - and she probably meets or exceeds her NATO obligation out of fear of Muslim Turkey more than some NATO obligation.

> Are we so desperate for someone, anyone, to represent us that we are hitching on to his wagon because he sounds good, no matter his track record?

Reality check: This party’s last five nominees were Rmoney, an Obama clone for all policy purposes; McCain, the clinically insane enemy spy; Bush Jr. twice, whose ugly legacy still haunts us and elects Democrats today; Bob Dole, Viagra spokesman, because it was his turn to lose or something; and former CIA Director Bush, whose hands set the miserable course for the party for the next quarter-century.

Let’s face it: like him or not, Trump is easily the best nominee either party has had since Reagan.

You hit the nail on the head. This is the revenge of the Paleo-Cons after the NeoCon takeover of every facet of the party starting with George Bush 41.

Pat has been consistently on message ever since then, and despite open disdain for the GOP he’s never considered himself anything except a conservative.

Why should Globalists define conservatism? I love the term I am not sure if it was Jeff Sessions or Trump, but the term was Economic Patriotism

Others (even Cruz) spout platitudes that seem to change a bit depending on where/when/in front of who they are spouted. trump carries the same core message no matter where he is and then manages to mix it up a bit to keep it interesting.

Trump is the only one out there going whole hog for America/Americans - the others have been so PC-whipped that they try to keep it "polite" without such "rhetoric"...

Go Trump!

Or as some recent bumper stickers I've seen say, "Trump Me"

Thanks for posting. Pat makes the very cogent point that foreign adventurism and nation building is NOT a legacy of Eisenhower, Nixon, or Reagan. It’s the legacy of the Bushes and their neocon supporters — and the results have been horrible. Trump’s speech lays out a vision much more in keeping with traditional Republicanism.

That doesn't stop the mincing Lindsey Graham and his neocon friends from claiming Reagan's mantle and pretending that their foreign policy views alone represent the Republican Party. You'd think that someone who couldn't even get to 1% in primary polls would show a little more humility.

May I add, the last several years this has been touted as economic recovery...would anyone like to disagree? Yea, I thought so.

The middle class has been crushed in this country. Free trade has done little to nothing to raise the standard of living of the average Joe. I submit, quite the contrary. We've been fed a lie.

Free trade has been a disaster for America.

Couple of years ago, my wife and I hopped on the motorcycles for a vacation ride from Texas to NC. We intentionally stayed off the highways to experience small town America.

What we witnessed was stunning. Town after town, hundreds of small towns decimated, abandoned. Scores of manufacturing facilities that usually stand on the outskirts of towns...scuttled. Where parking lots once full of vehicles of those working in the various plants....knee high weeds growing through the cracks of these facilities.

Y'all, we've been fed a huge $h!t sandwich. Small town America is dying. Largest employer now days in these small towns...Walmart (China-mart).

Time to rally back folks. We want our jobs back!

Trump's candidacy has really brought out the best in Pat Buchanan's columns lately. It's kind of ironic when you consider that PJB and Trump seemed to strongly dislike one another when Trump was considering a Presidential run 16 years ago. Who would have thought back then that Trump would be the one to take many of of the same ideas on trade, immigration, and foreign policy so much further on a campaign trail than Buchanan ever could.

......Pat makes the point that adventurism and nation building is the legacy of the Bushes and their neocon supporters — and the results have been horrible.....

So many horrible legacies of the pukeneo years.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE: pukeneo ignorance surfaces w/ this gem from pukeneo HDQ---the Weekly Standard: a “Trump presidency would represent the death knell of America as a great power.” (FReeper headstamp insightfully posted: "Already happened with the current moron in the White House." )

==============================================

GWB ensconced the pukes in our WH....their daily afternoon habit....sipping chilled Cristal w/ room-temperature Brie and water crackers in the Four Seasons lounge w/ our tax dollars......that/s where they get their half-baked ideas about US foreign affairs.

==========================================

===========================================

PUKE DEBACLE AFTER DEBCLE--Americans will not forgive and they will never forget the disastrous puke-induced invasion of Iraq.....three thousand young Americans dead, tens of thousands physically and psychologically maimed, trillions of US treasure squandered, vengeful Muslim armies coming here to kill us......all of it enabling the election of the vile Obama.

Let/s understand that neocons are political whores....they will get in bed w/ pols of any persuasion in order to achieve their own self-serving ends. Keep in mind these people do NOTHING that is in the best interests of the US....they have their own self-serving agenda.

Let's go back to the nauseating beginning: the political buzz was GWB met w/ neocons BEFORE his election; the deal was to invade Iraq and also included a catbird seat for the pukeneos in the WH Office of Special Ops (created just for the pukes, financed by US taxpayers).

=============================================

OH PLEASE, COLIN, WISE UP---Colin Powell asserts in his new book...."there would have been no Iraq war" had then-Pres GWB and his councilors (neocons) understood that Hussein did not possess any functioning unconventional weapons. Powell lauded the fact that under Bush we got rid of the horrific Hussein government and toppled the Taliban regime in Afghanistan....."

Which just goes to show neocons FORGOT to advise GWB about the fervid Mideast mindset. Its thousand-year-old sectarian internecine warfare was kept in check by strongmen like Saddam and Khadafi. Now these savages are marauding all over Europe.....and are coming here to kill us for what we did in Iraq.

POINTS TO PONDER

<><> Powell never mentions the conniving Mideast types calculated the advantage of having a superpower in their midst....and they cashed in bigtime.

<><> The US gamely decided to train the indigenous population....it cost us billions and we managed to train 4-5, or so, over five years.

<><> In the US we take them off the farm, send them to boot camp, and in 3 weeks we got battle-ready soldiers.

<><> The Bank of Kabul where the CIA and DOD deposited billions to finance the war was a withdrawal-only goldmine for insiders.

<><> For public consumption, GWB was prompted to say we went into Iraq to introduce them to the advantages of democracy and to get all warm and cuddly as they embraced it.

(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)

Remember this Colin? The war profiteering was outrageous. Neocon godfather Richard Perle relaxing in Paris (above the fray---nowhere near his cohorts plotting in the WH Office of Special Ops) got so rich w/ insider info, he was reported to be starting his own oil company.

<><> One last thing, Colin.....neocons duped GWB into believing the Iraq strike would cost $50-60 billion. Then an angry Bush fired advisor Larry Lindsey because Lindsay dared to say the war might cost more like $100 billion.

That was in 2007 dollars.

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY Iraq and Afghanistan today have cost the US some $3 TRILLION....and rivers of young blood. We/re still pouring US tax dollars into those decrepit Mideast countries, and..... as Donald says....the US got NOTHING in return.

BTW, look who controls most of the Iraqui oil fields today.

Could THIS be what the calculating neocons are after (/snix)?

AS GRAMPADAVE INSIGHTFULLY POSTED EARLIER: Most people don’t even know that neo-cons are actually leftists who moved from the democrat party when that party became more of a peace at any price party. They still support all the leftist social causes, open borders, abortion, gay marriage, affirmative action, political correctness, and whatever else all liberals support. Their only goal is to drag the US into every war they can in the Middle East.

“The Pukeneo Years” docu/drama/.

I LIKE IT-—the cast is perfect. LOL

They’ll need some good Madoff-type sleuths to find all the money the pukes have hidden away from war profiteering.
