The 2010 census missed thousands of California's Latino children
Los Angeles Times ^ | April 28, 2016 | By Sarah D. Wire

More than 113,000 young Latinos in California weren't counted in the 2010 census, a new study says, and Latino advocacy groups want to be sure the U.S. Census Bureau is working to reduce that number in 2020.

With an estimated 47,000 uncounted Latino children, Los Angeles County alone is home to 12% of the estimated 400,000 Latino children in the U.S. not counted in 2010, according to a study released Tuesday by the National Assn. of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Educational Fund and Child Trends' Hispanic Institute.

California could gain another congressional seat in 2020, and "that will depend on every one being counted," Vargas said. "It masks what the real population looks like in LA County when you are missing 47,000 children."

They only care because Latino is a synonym for Hispanic, a solid voting and donation block for democrats.

Isn’t the Democrat solution to this problem to simply “adjust” the statistics so that they say what the various pressure groups want them to say?

"National Assn. of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Educational Fund and Child Trends' Hispanic Institute."

The fact that these organizations exist (as not for profits) is exactly what is wrong. Amazing! Like ACORN with salsa.

Well, no worries. I’m sure that voter fraud and shipping in out of state dems will fix this little problem. It should turn out like a Saddam Hussein election. 110% of the vote will go to Hillary!!!

Jerry Brown’s voting public. Sad part is there are so many of them on the taxpayer welfare rolls, the Rats have a lock on Mexifornia. If they did not vote Rat, they would not be here.

You can’t count the ones you can’t find, and even the most diligent of census collection field people cannot get an accurate count on ants in an anthill. These people HIDE when anyone with any remote connection with the government shows up, and are exceptionally closed-mouth when asked direct questions, like names, and now many are there in this household, and the age and genders of each.

I’ve worked the census before and can testify that SOME “Latinos” are suspicious enough of any federal worker to not want to answer any questions. I was actually especially good at reassuring people that any data taken was under lock and key for decades and so it would be unlikely to see light of day while they were alive ... so I got results where others could not. But simply because I was really good at it doesn’t mean due diligence wasn’t attempted by others!

If people didn’t answer the census and so weren’t counted that was THEIR choice. SCREW THEM!!!

I still think the only way to get the DC crowd interested in enforcing the border is to levy a fee for crossing it. They care a lot about collecting taxes and dealing with tax dodgers ... it’s why we can be reasonably sure a bottle of Mexican beer is in the country legally.

Now the LA Times is letting out the truth.

I am a witness to the 1990 census being packed with non-existent Latinos by Latinos who were coached to lie about their numbers. They knew then that the Census is the basis for allocating congressional seats as well as other things.

A Census worker would arrive to a Latino home or apartment and the Latino answering the door would report double or triple the numbers actually living there. This was widespread.

Just one more weakness in our system that certain groups know to take advantage of.

Since then, I have found it very difficult to believe any of the advocacy issues of the Latino groups. I view them as cheaters and liars.

Illegal immigration brings crime and disruption at every level of our culture.

Civic planning doesn’t know real numbers to project growth and plan America’s future, etc.

If the census can’t accurately count the people, how can they count the people they didn’t count, accurately?

They’re all just making up these numbers, right?

Of course. That is what they do with climate data

I think Trump will reduce that number well before 2020.
