GOP Washington establishment begins warming to Trump
CNN ^ | Apr. 28, 2016 | Manu Raju and Deirdre Walsh

House and Senate Republicans are reluctantly coming to terms with the reality that the real estate mogul -- a man many feared given his unpredictability, questionable policy positions and lack of discipline on the campaign trail -- will likely be their party's standard bearer. Rather than fight it, a number of Republicans say, it may be time to embrace it.

It's way past time for the GOPe to accept Trump, instead of continuing to try to undermine him.

I think the GOPe elite arses should just stay out of it. They want to jump on late after the people have done all the heavy lifting.

Such cowards.

Hopefully, they see the writing on the wall (Trump’s wall)...
A lot of them will try and suck up just to try and hold their cushy positions...

GOPe had better get used to the idea of a Trump presidency.

I’m trying to imagine what it is, precisely, that they fear. He is not all that conservative on social issues, so it isn’t that.

Its the national sovereignty thing. That’s the only thing on which he is rock solid, so that has to be the thing they fear. Which means that, behind the noodle-spined squishes that make up the public face of GOPe, there are some very bad people. Probably the same people that are behind the openly evil DNC.

Like the old joke around here.

Why are you running as a Republican?
Cause the Democrat line on the ballot was already filled.

” Which means that, behind the noodle-spined squishes that make up the public face of GOPe, there are some very bad people.”

You can start with McConnell & Ryan.

Cruz was just evicerated right now by JOHN BOEHNER as being "lucifer in human form and the worst son of a bitch."

A great badge of honor bestowed upon Cruz by the nasty, fetid GOPe and their lackeys.

Oh right! The GOPe, media, et al are warming up to Trump the same way the establishment (Pharisees, Sanhedrin, etc.) warmed up to Jesus.

I used to think the term Uniparty was false but sometime during Bush 1’s presidency there was some sort of deal struck by the biggest power brokers in both parties. The Janus establishment has two faces, one Republican and the other Democrat.

It’s about time that the party elites get a taste of their own medicine. Let them hold their noses and vote for a candidate we forced on them just like we had to in 1988, 1996, 2008 & 2012.

So you think being personally dislike for being an lying condescending arrogant ass is a badge of honor? Ted Cruz is disliked PERSONALLY not because he is a outsider. He is not an outsider. He is a sitting Senator, worked in the Bush admin, married to a high level CFR contributor, Golden Sachs executive. He is a globalist, married to a globalist and funded by globalists. Plus the son of a Cuban, born in Canada is not a natural born citizen of the USA. Canada maybe, USA never.

The GOPe... which probably comprises thousands of behind-the-scenes people who make a very lucrative living in the "business" of politics, don't care one iota about "social issues". They care about their station in life, which is very comfortable... and would remain that way regardless of a Clinton presidency or a RINO presidency.

What they fear most is an outsider, like Trump, coming in and cleaning house of all the dead wood who daily work against America's interests for their own gain. I don't think he'll put up with that... at least I sure hope not.

For the first time in decades, the political establishment "elite" may once again have to earn their keep... or hit the road. That's what they truly fear.

“lack of discipline on the campaign trail”

Donald is very disciplined in the ways that matter most.
