Donald Trump could amass most primary votes in GOP history
NY Post ^ | April 27, 2016

Donald Trump will likely wind up winning the most primary votes of any GOP presidential candidate in modern history, the author of the influential Smart Politics blog told The Post on Wednesday.

After convincing victories in Tuesday’s primaries in five East Coast states, Trump has roughly 10.1 million votes, about 200,000 more than Mitt Romney got during the entire 2012 primary campaign.

And with the primaries ahead — including in populous states such as California, New Jersey and Indiana — the former “Apprentice” reality TV star should easily break the modern record of 10.8 million held by George W. Bush in 2000, according to blogger Eric Ostermeier, a political science professor at the University of Minnesota.

“In an election cycle with a high Republican turnout, his numbers are rising, even more so now that there’s only three candidates” left in the GOP race, he said.

You are right. When it comes to poll ratings among Leftist lesbian women, Abortionist, Left-wing married women, Gibsmedat Blacks, Illegal Hispanics, BLM millennials, Mind-numbed, indoctrinated college educated, you name it, Clinton's are worse then every single candidate in the race except for...

Oh, wait.

There, fixed it for you...

You'd think, that if Trump won every county, he'd be assured the delegates. But, NOOOOO! The voters voices/votes apparently mean nothing!

I wonder if we’ll see “ Hillary Clinton, the woman who couldn’t satisfy her own husband” in news stories?

Or, "Hillary Clinton, wife of impeached former President, Bill Clinton"...

Bush got the most votes of any GOP primary campaign and came within a court decision of losing to Gore.

Yes, but:

A) Gore was running to follow a fairly popular president

B) As much of a pompous bore as he was, Gore was far more likeable than Shrillary!

“I think he’s a good man and I think some of Trumpkins are absolute scumbags for the level of attacks on him.”

That’s because we DON’T think he’s a good man, but a lying sack of sh!t.

Not surprising with the overall record turnout. Trump may also have the most votes against of any nominee

That being said, at some point, the party is going to have to show some ethics and get behind Trump as the rightful nominee.

As soon as there is a majority of convention delegates voting for him, he will be the rightful nominee, just like Robert Taft in 1952.

yes, odd they never add “best selling author” or “real estate mogul”

his books have outsold almost ANY best selling author

I would say reality tv star should be the asterisk

wishful thinking on the part of the Cruzers

they would like nothing more than for Trump to lose the general election

I imagine there would be some celebrations in the streets of Texas if that were to happen

Sorry to disappoint, he’s going to kill Hillary

Also the economy was doing well in 2000. Say what you will but for a few short years in the 1998~2000 period we had a balanced budget.

Not that the republican congress did not have a lot to do with that, but Gore could claim he was part of the administration that balanced the budget, enacted welfare reform and saw the internet boom from 1994 to 2000. The Clinton Whitehouse, while leftist, was center left post the 1994 congressional defeat.

Gore was affected adversely by the fund raising scandal, where he raised money while calling from the Whitehouse. Folks forget it but that was an issue in the 2000 election. Seems mild by todays standards.

Hillary has none of those advantages. The economy sucks, she is not at all charismatic, she has so many scandals it is hard to keep track of them, she is ill and the Whitehouse she has embraced is so far left that even old time leftists are wondering what is happening.

Mutt pretty much effed himself in the worst way when he did that Trump bashing press conference. It was like watching a guy inexplicably destroy himself. Guess who ain't going to do him any favors soon?

A good example. Cruz will stand there, act like the pinnacle of honesty, and then spout the most ridiculous lies without the slight hesitation (”Trump said all Mexicans are rapists!” “Trump wants to kill the second amendment!” “Trump is pro-Abortion!” - the list just goes on and on and on). The odd thing is, all of these statements are easily verifiable as either outright lies, or stretching the truth so much that it amounts to a lie (for example, claiming that Trump favors funding to Planned Parenthood - well, he DOES but not for abortions... a little fact Ted leaves out). Even Rush, yesterday, couldn’t understand how Ted was coming up with some of the things in his “list” comparing Trump to Hillary.

Sigh.I just keep hoping at some point that the truth will sneak into whatever Ted uses as a brain, and he’ll wake up one morning and call it a day - then we can get on to battling against The Witch.

Donald J. Trump will add hundreds of thousands of votes from his gigantic victories upcoming in Indiana & California. I expect Trump will run the table after he politically slaughters Ted Cruz & Carly Fiorina, next Tuesday in Indiana.

When I watched that magnificent, packed, Trump/Knight rally last evening in Indiana....I knew that The Cruz/Fiorina team was doomed politcally before they even go started.

I’m glad the GOP wasn’t administering the Pepsi challenge. If 4 out of 5 people said they chose Pepsi, Priebus would say,”F**k you! Coke is better! Pepsi is our product and we’ll choose who likes it or not!”

Yes, it is sad. Cruz (and God forgive me if I’m wrong) reminds me of the polished televangelist preachers who are in it for the spectacle and glory rather so than honestly wanting to help their “flock” find the way. If that makes sense.....

Actually, it is factual. But don’t let that get in the way.

I am a conservative yet I still support trump not because I think he is the most conservative but because the GOP establishment needs to be destroyed. The establishment will never ever allow a conservative even if elected to carry out their mission. The party elites who take your money and run as conservatives and then govern as liberal democrats have all managed to line up against trump, not because they disagree with some of his policies, but because they know he will destroy them. Cruz had to make some deal with the devil in order to garner the support of the rinos and establishment which means they will own him if he wins. The republicans we elected to the house and senate have failed to use any and all means to stop Obama, which is why they were sent there in the first place. I am not saying trump is the answer or the end all be all of my preferred candidate but his winning in my opinion will be a start to destroying the establishment and donor class that pulls the strings and purposely go after conservatives when they propose legislation. McCain is a perfect example of this when he attacked Cruz. Another is Mitt Romney who came out of the woodwork to criticize Trump after taking his endorsement and money last cycle and once again tries to pass himself off as a conservative when his governing record is one of a liberal democrat. Trump is the only one talking about illegal immigration yet the chamber of commerce and powerful business lobbyists want open borders. As a veteran I am thoroughly disgusted with the gutting of our military and emasculation that has happened under Obama. I would like to elect a candidate who is a veteran but under Obama it appears as though serving your country has fallen out of favor due to all of the social experimentation and dithering on important strategy decisions. Trump also is not politically correct which I am grateful for. Trump may be short on specifics but sometimes you don’t need to know how the sausage is made in order to like the end result and I do not recall ANY member of the media asking Obama, Hillary, or even Bernie how they were going to accomplish their pipedreams and political objectives while they were running. I would love to hear some discussion on this if anyone is interested. Thanks, V/R
