Food Producers Alert They Have Only 15 Days Left of Inventory amid Rampant Inflation.
Despair and violence is taking over Venezuela. The economic crisis sweeping the nation means people have to withstand widespread shortages of staple products, medicine, and food.
So when the Maduro administration began rationing electricity this week, leaving entire cities in the dark for up to 4 hours every day, discontent gave way to social unrest.
On April 26, people took to the streets in three Venezuelan states, looting stores to find food.
Maracaibo, in the western state of Zulia, is the epicenter of thefts: on Tuesday alone, Venezuelans raided pharmacies, shopping malls, supermarkets, and even trucks with food in seven different areas of the city.
In Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, citizens reported looting in at least three areas of the city.
Supermarkets employees from Valencia told the PanAm Post that besides no longer receiving the same amount of food as before, they must deal with angry Venezuelans who come to the stores only to find out there's little to buy.
Purchases in supermarkets are rationed through a fingerprint system that does not allow Venezuelans to acquire the same regulated food for two weeks.
On Wednesday, the Venezuelan Chamber of Food said in a statement that most companies only have 15 days worth of stocked food.
According to the union, the production of food will continue to dwindle because raw materials as well as local and foreign inputs are depleted.

There are many options for food storage, and this is just one of several that I like. I am not a member, but the Mormon (LDS) Church advises its members to store food for emergencies and supports that advice with practical items at a good price. For milk (20 year shelf life), beans (30 years), flour (10 years), oats/wheat/potatoes/rice/macaroni/sugar (30 years), and now apples (30 years), carrots (25 years), and onions (30 years), I like what they have. They do not offer anything in stored meat, but there are other options for that category.
When things like this happen in Venezuela, I am reminded to check on whether I am satisfied with my preparations in terms of food - and the ability to defend that food and my family.
Serves them right. When their bellies get bloated and their children start dying off in droves, maybe the right thing will happen and the people will string up the leftists on the lamposts.
Look at those happy faces.
As I like to say, “It’s always a party when you’re eating (or in this case planning to) the seed corn.”
I laugh at their socialist paradise!
I’m sure congressional Republicans are preparing a generous bailout package.
If Bernie implements it here, it will take six or seven decades to get to this point IMHO. There is A LOT more here for them to loot.
Look at the precious little snowflakes!
I’m sure Sean Penn will come help out.
Every American professor should be made to take a one year sabbatical in Venezuela.
One day in the not too distant future, when the balloon goes up, I foresee the Bath House library being torched by the rioting gibsmedats of Chicago. And I will smile.

Weve seen this before.
1. Gain power by promising free stuff (and maybe add a little violence)
2. Redistribution - underpay the productive and overpay the unproductive
3. Production falls, prices rise
4. Implement price controls to fight inflation
5. Shortages become more serious
6. Government enters cycle of more and more dictatorial control and violence, diverting remaining resources to hardcore supporters
7. Revolution
8. Repeat - because people believe you can get something for nothing.

True, but there *is* a distinction. OUR Constitutional Republic specifically prohibits #1, 2, 6 by numerous affirmation of Rights.
When the Left argue, “But Socialism exists in the U.S.” Nary a (R)n(C) retort of “CANNOT happen here because of...”; yet they vote for Socialism in the next breath.
Course, that doesn’t stop the populace from ALLOWING said to happen...

Important! You need a place to bug out to. If you just show up out in the country don’t expect to be welcomed with open arms . . . . or maybe they will have open arms.
Nothing to worry about.
This is just part of the war on obesity.
Laurel and Hardy made a film called “Utopia”. The production quality was poor but the message was strong.
The North Korea of the western hemisphere?
Everytime I look at that stacked up food stored in the garage I smile. Then I go check the ammo. :-)
Gee........same dream as me. LOL.
I recently had a conversation with a very well to do couple from Ecuador.
I would guess that they are in the mid to late 40’s, they had two very proper teenage girls.
The husband bemoaned the political and media climate in their country, suggesting that there is no opposition parties that are even willing to run for office. Since the recent earthquake, it has become forbidden to discuss any news events unless those events have been previously broadcast on the news. They love their “Social media”.
You would think that they would begin to reject the so-called “Democratic Socialism” that they where complaining about, but no. The wife thought they needed to be MORE like Venezuela and expressed her admiration of Obama. She was sad that Obama wasn’t as effective as he could have been and thought he should have another term in office.
Please think about this. They were here, in the US to tour a Private School for their girls that costs $58,000 per year. Not a College, but a K thru 12 school.
It’s insane. There’s a complete disconnection between themselves and those that they claim to fight for.
Elitist? yes, but they don’t know or think they are elitist. Guilty or riff with guilt? Maybe, but they are not consciously aware of their guilt.
IMHO, they, like soo many retarded supporters of Socialist regimes have absolutely no fundamental understanding of the US Constitution and the true meaning of Liberty.
They accept the Governance of man over man as the natural state of a society. It is what it is without any comprehension of the alternative that was expressed by our Founding Fathers.
They don’t get it and they fight for what they think know because it is the only thing they know.
