I’ll point out in Europe....we don’t have this trend and if it ever comes up....I think the French and Germans would just establish a key system where you go and check out the key to one bathroom, do your business, and lock up....returning the key. There’s plenty of unemployed people and you’d just make them key-monitors and ensure only one person at a time uses the facilities.
Some small businesses are merely putting signs that read “Bathroom”, the bathroom is a one person unit.

The obvious solution is single-person toilets, with provision made for handicapped and their assistants. But it’s not about that. It’s about forcing normal people to go against the social norms they learned as children. Those social norms have nothing to do with religion or belief.
