The announcement of a VP running mate was definitely premature, and it only ends up hardening some attitudes and foreclosing various possibilities. At best it was still another “Hail Mary” flung into the air on behalf of the Cruz team, and there is not much possibility of even slowing down the inevitability of the coming majority for The Donald.
It is not surprising that the Cruz campaign would resort to such a tactic when they had momentary possession of the ball. What is surprising is that they ever had possession at all.

Cruz and Kasich have been mathematically eliminated, any votes for them are wasted ones.

some of us havent voted. let the people speak.
And considering that Cruz and Kasich are mathematically eliminated, just what exactly is it that you have to say?
Your choice is to either vote for Trump, or vote for the GOPe and their schemes and plans to manipulate the convention.
That ought to be a no-brainer for anyone.
Which primary coming up is yours?
