What does the ruling class care just more cannon fodder to them. Be interesting to see if the Obama girls get drafted when the time comes.

I think they are aiming for a Starship Troopers type of integrated force.

Dear God, I hate what this country has become. Sending women to death? Women that are supposed to be bearing and nurturing the next generation? It’s evil, pure evil.

IIRC, Charlie Rangel propsed this to get the Republicans to vote for it before a previous election. You realize the Left will use this as a battering ram against us, don’t you Mr Hunter?

What stupidity! We should be moving the other direction, ditching the draft completely. We have an all-volunteer force, and no one in their right mind wants draftees in the military.

If we are ever in such a dire situation that we need a draft, then we can always bring it back. But right now, registering for it makes no sense.

Good...

there are plenty of military jobs right here in the US for women that would leave the men free to go and fight...

if the men are required to register for the draft so should the women...

in fact as I listened to trump’s foreign policy speech I realized he may have to get Congress to pass a draft bill..

if someone insists on women on the front lines the special forces, SEALs etc should have control over the training testing etc and set the threshold as high as they want to...

The women should be required to qualify just as the men are without extra help...

if you don’t pass you don’t get to join the group...

no social agendas any more...

Well, it is true that there are many jobs in the military that can be done by women just fine. Driving a truck or a tank or a mortar track. Sighting in a mortar platoon, and even dropping don’t take a lot of strength. Logistics, intel, and of course all the REMF roles. Army Corps of Engineers does mostly construction running earth moving equipment and surveying tools that women can operate perfectly well.

Infantry is the worst use of women on a battlefield. The men around them will worry about them, hit on them, fight over them, and morale will go to pot when women are injured or killed.

I do wonder how much welfare a military draft would eliminate, though. If welfare ended after 6 months and then you either have to get a job or drafted, I suspect most welfare recipients would find a job. The ones that ended up in the military might actually learn some discipline and life skills while not costing us any more than they did collecting welfare.

You have to let the libtards own this, this is what they want.

Bodies mean nothing to them until it hurts them politically or its their daughters that die. Then they will demand it gone as hard as they demand total unrestricted abortion.

Ok for women to be required to register.

NOT OK for women to serve in combat roles!

NONONO Just friggen NO!.

It would weaken the military.

Personally, I think people should attempt to put this issue in proper perspective. I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that only about 15% of service men and women are in combat roles where there is risk of life and limb.

Should there only be male mechanics, planners, communications and radar technicians, procurement officers, cooks, nurses, doctors, intelligence officers, etc, and why not Mable and Alice sitting somewhere in East Fumbuck, Iowa piloting drones over ISIS oil convoys?

There is a history of women serving in the military, and unless you believe females are inferior to males, there is no logical reason to exempt women from the draft.

In Starship Troopers, only citizens had the ability to vote. The greater mass of the population did not participate in elections (probably a good thing because it culled out the low information voters). Full citizenship and full rights involved service and sacrifice. That's something many people don't want to even consider — if they could pass the physical. This is especially true where life and limb are involved and, in the book, it was a war against the Bugs (nasty aliens).
