They have a toll that runs right into the RTP. It starts north at I-40 near Page and runs all the way to Fuquay Varina.
Companies pay it. I click off north at hwy 55 and south at hwy 55.
I’m 4 hours to a decent beach. Surfside
Where did you live in NC?
I guess it was to be expected. It still stinks. I know there are those who like RTP but it really changed that area and not necessarily to the good. But then, that’s just mho.
Raleigh was a large city with a small town feel to it in ‘79 and that’s what I loved about it.
It took me 3 to 4 hours to get to Nags Head but I could get to Atlantic Beach for a night of clubbing in 3 hours. Did that many times but being a night owl (and younger then), I could pull it off. LOL! I’d head home when the club closed and be there by my normal bed time.
Those were the days.
I lived in Raleigh for 14 years - except for 3 years in Durham when I was married for a short time.
Then lived in Wilmington for a year after Mom died but everything fell apart. Back to TN again. Met Hubby, got married, and here I stay. :-)
LOL! THE #1 thing on my list is for him to find a bolt and nut (it’s on the outside and flat) set to reattach the handle and the glass of my sunroof. No one seems to know what I’m asking for. I can describe it perfectly.
Somehow the nut got loose and disappeared. I have the bolt that goes through the handle and glass from the inside, but I can’t put them together and secure the hole and make the sunroof water tight again. I went through the car wash on Sunday and almost drowned. I duct taped the hole on the outside and duct taped part of the edge of the sunroof, but water still poured in as I can’t make a good seal as the opener can’t be dogged down. *sigh* I do keep a towel, but it gets soaked and I get tired holding it up. LOL!
I don’t care how it looks anymore, just so I can use the sunroof and dog it down for rain, if we ever get any, and car washes.
Sleep tight, Luv...((HUGS))
Thanks, unique.
radu.....#100!!
ROTFL!! I’m sitting here remembering you took your mom through the car wash not long ago. Or were you in her car that time?
I hope he has luck finding what you need. No fun when a sunroof leaks!
HEY!!!!!! What are you doing still awake??? And why am I not surprised? LOL!
A two-fer tonight, and I wasn’t even trying for the second one. LOL
Concord
“Her” car is the Subaru...I had to get a car that took NO steps of any height to get in. My folks Suburban had to go. I took the salesman home with me several times to try out a couple. It was meant to be. I have an 84 S-10 Blazer, but the seat is a little to high for her.
I love the way it drives, but the driver’s seat and I don’t get along well. The seat won’t tip forward at all so I use a wedge on the seat. Knees and back need special consideration. Old age isn’t fun. LOL!
Do you visit your recliner every now and then? d:o)
I think I am going to soak and then crash.
Sleep tight when you get there.
Good night and rest well, eye. Thanks for the beautiful scenary. And thank you for your service to our country.
Ah, ok. I know if you’d taken her through the car wash in your vehicle or not. That would have really freaked her out if you had. LOL
Not fun when your seat won’t adjust the way you need it to for a bad back and knees. I drive what was Aunt Clara’s Town Car most of the time because it has a lumbar support thingie. The station wagon is a good car, too, but it doesn’t have the lumbar support. I only drive it when I need to haul groceries or something large.
Good night and sleep well.
Have a grand time tomorrow with your brother!
