I could go for some “dangerous strain of isolationism”. I’m tired of the U.S. sticking its finger in every “light socket” around the world.

Exactly. Because of obama’s ineptitude, we are a global laughingstock..

We gained nothing but dead Americans from Iraq. GWB had us invade Iraq when should have invaded Saudi Arabia to punish them for 911. Send Arabs back to their camels and taken the oil for ourselves. None of this crap about democracy just straight up revenge for 911 and the ending of the KSA terror state.

As incoherent as the concept of the Arab Spring?

Seriously, If you drank a bottle of Robitussin-AC, washed it down with a bottle of cheap Canadian whiskey, smoked marijuana, took a tab of LSD, and had some mushroom, you couldn't puke that up on a bathroom floor.

"Trump questions international alliances that have kept America safe"

1. The only thing that has kept America safe is the US Military.

2. What these guys are worried about is that we won't foot the blood and treasure to keep the Freeloaders safe too. That's what has everyone's panties in a bunch.

All of our "allies" have the resources to do this for themselves.

If you embrace Globalism, and the progress towards One World Government, then, yes Trump could be seen as an isolationist. I guard my home, and lock the doors and turn on the alarm at night ,and have a gun and a dog. Am I an isolationist, or just protective of my family?

The speech was brilliant and pro-America to the core. Those who oppose America can kiss my backside.

There is only one group of people that hate America more than radical Muslems and that’s American leftists. Of course they dislike the Trump speech. I liked it and felt that it hit a home run. But that’s me.....I LOVE my Country.

They're smoking the expensive stuff over at the Bee again. Anyone who could look at the current incoherent, self-destructive mess that is U.S. foreign policy with anything but dismay and contempt isn't paying attention. What we have is a continuum of screw-up running from the unprovoked bloodshed in Libya to the negotiation "breakthrough" in Iran that provided seed capital to our enemies' nuclear programs and permission for all ahead full. And the answer to this festering pile of policy droppings? Elect one of their principal authors!

So I'll pass on the Bee's "expert" opinion, thanks.

dangerous and incoherent was the new standard

You mean like threatening to declare a no-fly zone over someone else's sovereign territory and then threatening to shoot down Putin's aircraft operating there at the invitation of the head of state of that sovereign territory for the purpose of defeating our soi-dissant common enemy ISIS. - that kind of dangerous and incoherent.

“Incoherent” is the word for the day among the yakking wordsmiths who really know nothing of foreign policy other than what they hear from one another and repeat mindlessly like a game of second grade telephone. It replaces the latest rage of “topped out at 35%”.

But it’s also full of contradictions and dangerous strains of isolationism

Pure bullshit! I believe they are referring to standing by our allies who also have to pony up for the cost of our defending them. I guess if they take the path refusing to honor their debt, that makes us isolationists?

I heard the speech, it was pretty good. American interest first. What an incoherent concept!

*rolls eyes*

I think this article will become the talking points of Ted Cruz and the GOPe this week.

Just watch.

Romney, Rush, and Levin will be making fun of it tomorrow.

Oh and did I mention that you are doing this because the guys you are supporting to attack ISIS are really making common cause with ISIS, but you have this policy on the grounds that well they maybe SOBs, but they are your SOBs, so you think, and Putin is targeting them because they are getting in the way of attacking the so-called common sworn enemy.
