The Texas senator was in Knightsville, Indiana, at the gym where the movie “Hoosiers” was filmed. Cruz referenced how much he loved Hoosiers and added, “The amazing thing is, that basketball ring in Indiana, it's the same height as it is in New York City and every other place in this country.”

Cruz probably meant to say “rim” which makes sense if he had said it. Too bad that he did not. Politicians should stay away from sports jargon. Most of them have not played a “down,” “inning,” “quarter,” or “period” in their lives.
Indeed, mocking is called for even though the shape of the “hoop” is round like a ring, it is never called that in Indiana.
They have shorter people in Indiana?
This is as important a gaffe as Dan Quayle misspelling potato. Jeez people, have some perspective will you!

Come to think of it, I’ve never seen him throw a baseball, either. The last thing we need is another sissy throwing out the first pitch for baseball games.

We were at a Cincy Ballgame about 2 years ago, and he was the designated first pitch thrower.
Not only was it totally, entirely like a girl, but honestly, it didn’t make it half way.
I thought to myself, “Self, this ‘guy’ can’t throw a baseball AT ALL!”

And the article says he was in “Knightsville” when he said it.

It’s about March Madness in Indiana before we finally succumbed to the whiners and went with class basketball.
Hoosiers is about a small town underdog team going up against the big city/county teams, and winning.
You saw Obama throw, right? I have sisters, and I never saw a girl throw worse than that. It was like he had never picked up a ball in his life. He should have been wearing a tutu, which he might have preferred.
