Video of Rush TV show from 1993 who not only pushed NAFTA, but mocked those that were against it. His joking about it starts at about 1:20 and goes to 2:50.

Big joke Rush, about companies moving to Mexico because of NAFTA. That sucking sound took a few decades, but folks in Indiana are probably not finding this very funny right now.

Good find. Rush and the mind-numbed robots in the audience are laughing about jobs going to Mexico.

How many people who are anti-NAFTA now, were pro-NAFTA. I seem to remember most conservatives were pro-NAFTA back then.

To some degree free trade is great idea. Trade goes both ways. But, your average mexican doesn’t have the resources to purchase US made products. Then add the taxes and duties on them, and they are completely out of reach.

Free trade needs to go where there is a reciprocal agreement, where the US has access to their markets, on the same level as they have access to ours.

The shipping of us factories to Mexico produce products to be returned to the US market with no tax for the value add, undercuts US workers. Why would I want the headache of US labor law, when I can go to Mexico and purchase virtual slaves.

I remember this well. Stopping listening to the fraud right then when he revealed who he was working for.

I seem to remember most conservatives were pro-NAFTA back then.

Not me. I was always smarter than Rush and Pres. Reagan.

I had been layed-off and even compensated by the federal government for having my job moved to Mexico. So, I became a banker. Good solid job, right?

Bank mergers in the 1980’s due to federal law changes - laid off two more times due to mergers across state lines.

I've been chased by big government my entire working life.

I gave up on Rush after he went full-throated on Rubio after 25 years of listening.

Hope he enjoys his retirement.

The shop jobs in Michigan, those jobs making car parts/ small electronics, nearly all but a few vanished overnight.

Reagan didn’t endorse NAFTA. NAFTA was his idea.

“Big joke Rush, about companies moving to Mexico because of NAFTA.”

You mean like the companies Trump moved to Mexico?

I think Reagan had already entered his Alzheimers seclusion when NAFTA came up for a final vote.

turned out that the politicians were operating under a different set of traditions than most perceived the phrase to mean

traditions like “never give a sucker an even break”
