United States Steel Corp. has filed a complaint with U.S. regulators against the biggest Chinese steel producers, accusing them of conspiring to fix prices, stealing trade secrets and skirting duties on imports in the U.S. with false labeling.
The big steelmaker is alleging illegal unfair competition by the Chinese producers and their distributors, and is seeking “the exclusion of all unfairly traded Chinese steel products from the U.S. market.”
U.S. Steel announced Tuesday that it lodged the complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission. Normally the independent federal agency decides within 30 days whether or not to act. The case would go before an administrative law judge at the agency if it decides to proceed. …

I have seen firsthand number 3 and number 5 rebar snapping like pretzels when trying to bend it, from China. Got shipped to Alaska years ago. Rebar must bend.

It would be great for Trump to meet with them to evaluate the corruption, mislabeled steel, etc. He could blow the horn. He should then demand that Obama take action.

Ai yai yai, tell me about pipe! Especially black pipe, even with a power threader i simply cannot get perfect threads.
Buy chinese steel be it pipe or structural and yes you save money, but only for the moment. You know how hard it is to try and get US made pipe in Alaska? Cheaper fof the big box stores, they get a higher profit margin, we get substandard products.
I hope to Trump sets up a quality committee to see into this.

my latest example is stainless steel wood screws. The heads twisted right off and leave part of the shank sitting above the wood. I had a box of 100 and had twenty of them do that.
