Democrats Worried as Union Members Support for Trump Tops Support for Hillary and Bernie Combined

“While most of Trump’s support comes from the staunch Republican base, one in four Democrats who chose a candidate showed a preference for Trump,” said Working America’s report.

The majority of respondents said they supported the candidate because of his pugnacious personality rather than for, say, his position on trade.

On Tuesday, Jared Szczesny, a card-carrying member of the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America Union (UAW), will cast his vote for Trump in Pennsylvania’s primary. In 2008 and 2012, UAW endorsed President Obama. This time UAW has yet to endorse a candidate, but is likely to back a Democrat.

Szczesny, 31, has never attended a Trump rally. He works seven days a week and has not been able to find the time. However, back in October, he picked up Trump’s book The Art of the Deal. When he finished it, he knew that Trump had his vote.

The Unions don’t control how the members vote in the privacy of the voting booth.

I see what you mean.

The bottom sentence contradicts the first. It sounds like Szczesny made a reasoned decision to support Trump because of policy, and not "pugnacious personality."

A decent editor would have caught that.

ATT dittos!. The company made me a millionaire 2 times over. It took 30+ years and the union had a lot to do with it. Working for a utility I got lucky but I did my part on my end and invested! Never could understand why the others didn’t do the same but those of us who did(40%) most likely voted Republican while our union bosses drank the kool-aid. You can’t make anyone save anymore than you can make a horse drink.

That might just mean Donald’s willingness to fight hard, which showed in his book. It is poetically being called a pugnacious personality here.

Looks like, through Trump, the center is about to squash the left, who has forgotten where their bread was buttered.

The lefties will be left in a state of mystery over how Trump emerges and prevails. For being supposed “empaths” and “sensitives” they are incapable of self examination about anything that defeats their interpretive framework. Their sages and gurus are infected with the disease of romanticism, a pining for the way things were which is a metaphor for their childhood. Reality is going to make them more and more insane and it will be entertaining to watch the consternation spread across their collective faces as they blame everything other than their ideologically lobotomized minds for events that their auguries failed to predict.

Teamsters, Labor Unions and other hard working “Blue Collar” folks are for Trump. NOT the soft, sagging belly, public unions like Teachers and SEIU.
The Members want The Donald, NOT the union Bosses.

Back in the day, the HardHats wore “Nixon Now” bumper stickers on their buckets. Cracked the heads of protesters while the Cops looked the other way.
They came out for Reagan in 80’s with the truckers leading the way.

They’ll be there for The Donald this time around.

The Northeast is more a Union area than a big “D’ Democrat area. It’s jobs, wages and unions. The Democrat party takes advantage of all of that in a Big way.

“Her Thighness” does NOT have union member support except (the communists at SEIU), except for all those living off a Government check.

The Donald wins 45+ states against Hillary the Witch.
Our Man Ted simply cannot win the crossover voters.

We have a friend of many years who’s an electrical engineer. He told us last year about a Japanese car manufacturer who has opened a plant with...

...people who run the place.

Cars made 24/7/365.

Yeah. Union members better worry.

In this case, there’s a difference between what the union members want and what their union bosses want.

The union members want jobs. The union leader thugs have their own agenda.
