US unions plan attack on Donald Trump in attempt to derail presidential bid

Concerned labor group leaders are organizing ad campaigns and phone banks as Trump’s populist message on trade and jobs draws in union voters

The prospect of a Donald Trump nomination has labor leaders scrambling to hold the line as the Republican frontrunner’s appeal to disaffected working-class voters threatens to upset the traditional political calculus.

The majority of America’s almost 15 million unionized workers can be usually be relied upon to back the Democratic candidate in a presidential year, but leaders are concerned by Trump’s populist message on trade and jobs – and his insistence that union workers are just one of many groups on a long list of those he claims “love” him.

Unions are collecting way too much in Dues if they an afford to do this and not pay striking workers when they go on strike

What private union members care about is actually having a job. But the union leaders tell them lies and some of the members still believe them, others are waking up. Of course the union bosses have turned 180degrees on immigration because the immigrants will take the jobs and pay dues.

The public employee unions are much worse, as they don’t have to rely on staying in business to maintain membership, they just have to keep democrats in power.

It’s not about the members, it’s about the dues and politics.

No, but it’s the leadership that decides where their massive PAC contributions go.

We can’t be fooled,” Richard Trumka, president of AFL-CIO, America’s largest federation of labor unions, implored his 12.5 million members at the organization’s annual convention in Philadelphia this month. “Trump isn’t interested in solving the problems he yells and swears about. He delivers punch lines, but there’s nothing funny about them.”

Trumka's slogan - "Hey! Ho! US Jobs have got to go!"

That'll fly. /rock

It will be interesting to see who the United Mine Workers endorse if anyone. They endorsed Obama in 2008 and no one in 2012. The union leadership in many unions have moved left in some cases hard left since 1972 when a good number of unions at the national as well as the local level endorse President Nixon for re-election. But the 1972 union leaders are gone, retired or passed away-the new leaders and the staff have forgotten all the repression of labor unions in communist countries. George Meany never did!

Unions? Oh yeah, that’ll work.

I bet a good percentage of the people showing up at Trump rallies are union or former union guys.

Talk about a backlash.

Well I am a member of the Maine State Employees Association-SEIU and I am voting for Trump and voted for him at the Maine Republican Caucuses on March 6. About half of the members of my unit will probably vote for Trump.

Collectivists, socialists, Marxists, communists - they all hate Trump and recoil in horror at the prospect of his leadership after seven plus years of the Leninist Red, obama.

The members know Trump supports workers and Hillary Clinton doesn’t

This is exactly right. What the union leadership says, has almost no sway with the rank and file. My union of course endorsed Sanders. I get nothing but quite "me too" when coworkers spot my Trump bumper sticker and hat on the dash.

Union leadership? I can buy it. But the rank and file will break for The Donald.

.... Once Mr. Trump get's the nomination ......... Things will get extremely dirty very fast.

...... YUP ..... ...... The stakes are extremely high for the Socialist Movement in the US. They know full well that the Golden Goose of Socialism, The Single Payer Health Plan (Government Funded, Mandated and Controlled Healthcare) movement will be jeopardized by a strong Republican taking office.

..... Consequently they will stop at nothing .... Including violently and fraudulently influencing and controlling the upcoming election to achieve their nirvanic utopian goal of centralized government control of everything.

..... Socialized Medicine is the anchor that will allow them to successfully implement the final nail into the coffin of what is left of this Constitutional Republic. They are determined that there will not be another Republican taking office until they have completed their plan.

..... We are their enemy and we better start looking at them as such. This is not just an ordinary election.

Amazing. Someone who might actually help people get jobs and fix the screwed up trade laws, but the corrupt union leaders prefer backing a corporate shill like Hitlery.
