The Republican Convention Will Not Be Contested
PJ Media ^ | 04/25/2016 | Roger L Simon

Apologies to those who still don't accept the inevitability of a Donald Trump candidacy in the Republican Party -- I feel your pain, as a famous prevaricator/predator once said -- but, disappointing as it may be to Fox and CNN executives, not to mention the millions or hundreds of thousands of voters loyal to Messrs. Cruz and Kasich, it's all over but the shouting and the backbiting. Cleveland in July may not be Christmas in July, but it's not going to be the second coming of the 1992 L.A. riots or the 1968 Chicago convention either.

If everyone was honest with themselves, they would admit this article is true. I pray we all come together for the good of our beloved nation.

It’s all over except for the vengeance against the corrupt disciples of deceit in D.C.

Trump has won more primaries than Hillary.

Why is no one talking about a contested Dem convention?

The media disgusts me.

I have been convinced for a couple months that the whole idea of a contested convention is a media pipe dream that they (the media) are trying to convince us is inevitable when in fact it is much more likely it is not inevitable.

It’s all over but for the shilling and backbenching from the bowels of an underground bunker.

I also believe that Trump will mop the floor with Hillary in November. I think at some point trump will be able to get her so flustered in a public setting that she will loose control and we will see the true Hillary come unhinged. She has never faced a situation where she was not in control of everything and was able to scrip responses and rehearse them.

The only miss here by Simon is that the Republican leadership prefers Hillary.

But they will fold.

That’s what they do.

If not, they will lose power.

Win-Win for America. Not that it matters much other than satisfaction. Obama has been in office for over 7 years. His approval rating is around 50%.

That tells you all you need to know about our future.

Not a Trump fan but I agree with the article. Trump has the big Mo and when he wins Indiana it is all over.

Sorry, but it's not obvious, and wishful thinking won't make it so. I voted for Trump an hour ago, but it's not over until it's over. What matters is whether the voters in the last few states decide it's over and systematically endorse Trump with landslide wins or decide to "stop" Trump and cut him off just short of the required number of pledged delegates.

Trump needs a backup plan in case he doesn't have a first ballot win.

Alas, the GOPe machine is not all-powerful as some imagined.

Sneaky and dirty? Yes. All-powerful? Not so much.

Can’t wait for this to be over ...

Most likely true and I can accept it. But until the nomination is won, I’ll support Cruz. I’m not “Never Trump.” But that isn’t good enough. The unmitigated hate will continue to be heaped upon me on this forum. I’m hated more than Hillary in these parts. All because of my tagline.

Isn't it something? The Collusionists did in their own aspirations for an open convention. Add to that, we probably don't have to worry about either of them being on anyone's list for VP!

There's a poll on MSN's home page. 60% ! voted that it was collusion and not acceptable!

Why is no one talking about a contested Dem convention?

Who will contest her nomination at the convention once she has Bernie murdered?

I hope that people will dispense with the backbiting and backstabbing and fully support Trump, who will be the R nominee, against Hillary.

“The only miss here by Simon is that the Republican leadership prefers Hillary.”

Unfortunately you are correct.

We have clear evidence:

GOPe is in bed with the Democrats for a Hillary presidency.
