I beg to differ, but only slightly. A local real estate guy (originally from Philly), created a place that had "true" Philly steak sandwiches, complete with rolls baked in Philly and shipped to him overnight, and Cheez Whiz.

Place went out of business in about 4 months. Guess it's an acquired taste.

You’d have to be a native to actually prefer Cheez Whiz, to be honest. It’s not what most people outside of Philadelphia would want on their steak and cheese sub. Canned spray cheese product doesn’t exactly scream authenticity, it’s a big step down from even Velveeta to most.
