"For weeks before the presidential election, the gurus of public opinion polling were nearly unanimous in their findings. In survey after survey, they agreed that the coming choice between President Jimmy Carter and Challenger Ronald Reagan was “too close to call.” A few points at most, they said, separated the two major contenders.

But when the votes were counted, the former California Governor had defeated Carter by a margin of 51% to 41% in the popular vote–a rout for a U.S. presidential race. In the electoral college, the Reagan victory was a 10-to-1 avalanche that left the President holding only six states and the District of Columbia.

...the pollsters have a lot to answer for, and they know it. Their problems with the Carter-Reagan race have touched off the most skeptical examination of public opinion polling since 1948...The public and private pollsters are criticizing their competition’s judgment, methodology, reliability and even honesty. At the heart of the controversy is the fact that no published survey detected the Reagan landslide before it actually happened."

On that same note, I think it would be terrible to change the rules to protect a candidate who failed to get 1237 but somehow thought he was owed the nomination because he had what some people call a "lion's share".

That is where you betray your patently unfair and thoughtless attitude.

Why?

Because you're not factoring in the all-out effort of systematic, non-stop demonization carried out by a crooked, unholy alliance that includes the Left/Media/GOPe, and Ted Cruz campaign.

These malevolent forces have engaged in an all out campaign of systemized, coordinated character assassination, all in an effort to blunt Donald Trump's clea march to the nomination.

Donald Trump has fought these powers with everything that he has, but if these same elites are somehow successful in making fall a few delegates short, it makes no difference. Donald Trump will still deserve the nomination, and will win it, regardless of how many ballots it requires: 0 or more.

It's really ironic that the entire Establishment, including the GOPe and Ted Cruz, has created a dynamic where any other outcome will:

The Left/Media/GOPe, and, yes, the Ted Cruz campaign— whatever group of Machiavellian clowns you's like to blame it on— failed to think through the consequences of their crooked scheme: they failed to understand that Trump would survive this, and if they somehow manage to steal the nomination from him because they've managed to push a few delegates off the table, their collectively corrupt and un-American actions will either come to naught, meaning Donald Trump gets the nomination, or the GOPe will become involved in the nomination process, get someone else nominated (it doesn't matter who), and face the results noted above.

That is the situation they've created. If they had given Donald Trump a chance to fail organically, then this scenario could have been avoided.

Because they decided to engage in overt political and civil sabotage (initiated by the speech of traitor Mitt Romney) they destroyed the possibility of actually beating Trump at the convention.

All these elites (and their abettors) have been exposed as the crooked, unprincipled fiends that they are, and the GOP electorate (Trump voters) is not going to tolerate any more shenanigans.

This will be borne out tomorrow and in the coming GOP primaries.

The GOPe, Media, Left, Establishment, and the Ted Cruz campaign have made their bed, and now they're going to have to sleep in it...

Vote Trump

“That was quick”

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a little to quick, it might be an outliar and we will have to see if it holds up with other polls.

>>Trump doesn’t have a chance. If you choose not to play the “ground game” and woo delegates, at least don’t call it cheating when you lose that ground game.

So sleazy rules, written by sleazy politicians, should favor the sleazy career politician? That is truly “consistent” conservatism in a nutshell. Trusting a “consistent” conservative is like buying a used car from a guy named “Honest”.

Especially amazing to happen before the conventions/nominations. Even with all the forces out there trying to stop Trump, he is forging ahead and making positive headway.

Cruz - get out now and prove you care more for the People than for yourself by helping Trump instead of Hillary...

Rush,a huge Cruz supporter by the way, explained yesterday the dirty Teddy strategy. Its all about the second ballot.
Supposedly Cruz has bribed, bought, coerced so many delegates to vote for him should their be a second ballot that he could conceivably win.
