Hillary Clinton a mere 3 points ahead of Donald Trump in new national poll
The Week ^ | 25 Apr 2016

Hillary Clinton's once commanding lead over Donald Trump in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup has shrunk to just a few points, according to a George Washington University Battleground Poll. The poll, out Monday, finds the Democratic presidential frontrunner with 46 percent to the GOP frontrunner's 43 percent, which falls within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

But Clinton supporters ought not to get too worried yet. As The Hill notes, this is the only poll out there predicting quite so slim of a lead for Clinton. A Real Clear Politics average of polls shows that, generally, Clinton leads Trump by about 8 points in hypothetical match-ups.

The poll was taken from April 17-20 among 1,000 registered likely voters across the nation.

There was an NBC online poll two weeks ago with very similar results so I think it is definitely getting closer.

Trump is going to crush Hillary of we can get past the corrupt RNC/GOP and their stooges Kasich and Cruz.

I believe one of the keys will be turnout.

I don’t believe Hillary will have a lot of her supporters very motivated. Many will be disappointed Bernie lost. Trump supporters, on the other hand, will be very motivated.

“Crooked Hillary isn’t going to know what hit her. She’ll be lucky if she doesn’t have an aneurysm, “

I read here the other day that she has a brain tumor. They found it as a result of a colonoscopy.

Apparently, Ted Cruz plans on limping into the GOP convention with, at best, about 700 delegates or so.

And then what's he going to do somehow, magically? He's going to seize the nomination from Donald Trump, displacing the party's clear frontrunner.

I will be the first one to say that if Trump gets to 1237, it's his. It would be terrible for the GOP to change the rules to take it away from him. I would actively fight against that.

On that same note, I think it would be terrible to change the rules to protect a candidate who failed to get 1237 but somehow thought he was owed the nomination because he had what some people call a "lion's share". Now, I don't know what a "lion's share" actually is but if it is 50.1% then I agree that it falls in line with the rules and he should get the nomination. If a "lion's share" is less than 50%, we should not change the rules to give it to one who has that much. It would not be "cheating" to work within the rules to give it to someone else.

I think Ted will be closer to 800-850 but as you will see, it won't matter.

There are about 300 delegates that have been voted in by the voters and who are currently uncommitted per their states rules or who are committed to candidates who have dropped out.

Kasich will have about 200 by the convention and by current rules, those delegates will have to vote for someone else. (magic 8 rule)

There are several hundred delegates who have been elected by the people of their state who don't like Trump and will only vote for him on the first roll call because their state rules require it. Because of the way he has behaved on the campaign trail and how he has criticized the normal grass roots political activism of district and caucus delegate selection as "cheating", these same delegates who were elected in them won't look too kindly on him on the second roll call.

800 (Cruz) + 300 (unaffiliated / withdrawn) + 200 (Kasich) + a couple hundred (x/over Trump) = well over 1237 on the second roll call.

Trump doesn't have a chance. If you choose not to play the "ground game" and woo delegates, at least don't call it cheating when you lose that ground game.

If Trump does actually squeak by and get 1237, do you think he should similarly skip out on the traditional general election "ground games"? Or do you see that was a huge mistake on his part during the primaries?

yes indeed.

if there’s one thing that DTrump knows how to do... its go on the political attack (which is a big part of most political campaigns...at least when candidates want to win they point out their opponents’ weaknesses ...)

something McShame and Gov. Romney never did

This can’t be true. Lyin’ Ted has said numerous times that Trump cannot beat Hillary in the general election. Cannot! And Lyin’ Ted also said if you vote for Trump, you might as well put a Hillary for President bumper sticker on you car.

So there.

I try to stay away from idolization, but honestly, that graphic is very slick and I love the characterization of those two being our champions, the two in our White House.

Bring it on! Melania, we have your back.

Donald, this is where you redeem yourself for all time.
