Cruz chair admits Pennsylvania 'will likely go mostly for Trump'

Ted Cruz's campaign concedes that next Tuesday's primaries in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, and Maryland will be difficult for Cruz, and on late Sunday afternoon campaign chairman Chad Sweet admitted that the biggest prize of the day, Pennsylvania, "will likely go mostly for Trump."

The best hope for Cruz, Sweet told members of Cruz's national security team in an on-the-record conference call, is to win a "fair share" of the delegates at stake in the Keystone State.

"We knew all along ... that this particular stretch of states in the Northeast was going to be probably the low point of the campaign in terms of our ability to win delegates," Sweet said, noting Cruz's loss last week in New York. "We recognize it's going to be a tough stretch for us on Tuesday. We always anticipated that we would have to ride through that period, and fortunately for us, a number of the key states, including Pennsylvania, which will be one of the big states on Tuesday that will likely go mostly for Trump, we'll still win a fair share, Kasich will still win a fair share. If you combine both Kasich and us together, you'll see that the anti-Trump vote exceeds the Trump vote."

"If you combine both Kasich and us together, you'll see that the anti-Trump vote exceeds the Trump vote."

Is this great logic, or what? "Yeah, Cruz got his usual 28% again, but Trump's winning 49% means the majority oppose him!"

Plus Trump's above 50% in DE/PA/CT/RI too.

If I were a betting man, I’d put $20 on Trump clearing 50%. Counting just the 11 counties in the SW PA/Pittsburgh area, I’d put the same bet on him clearing 60%.

Tommorrow is going to be a bad day for Cruz... and with Kasich now getting in bed with Cruz to hope to stop Trump from a win in IN, I fully expect Trump will top 50% in most states going forward after tomorrow.

It will be interesting to see if this nevertrump nonsense in IN backfires.

Works both ways asshats...

There was a Cruz delegate ‘suggested post’ on FB this AM. He got his ___ handed to him big time. There were NO supporting comments. Made me smile :-)

I have an idea.

Why don’t all the Republican candidates who’ve suspended their campaigns jump back in!

Since the GOPe seems to believe that primary votes don’t matter and it should be the party selecting a candidate, seems to me that 17 gives more choices than a paltry 3.

And yet Cruz has been saying that about the “anti-Trump” vote for a couple of months now, apparently without realizing how much bigger the “anti-Cruz” vote is if you use the same metric. Upwards of 80% in some places. GTFO, Cruz.

Big MO-mentum shifted since last Tuesday.

Many delegates want to go with a winner, not another also-ran loser.

There will be some 200 uncommitted delegates at the convention.

The Cruz-Kasich cabal is very revealing. Will it hold or will it turn voters off, since BOTH have been mathematically eliminated from a 1st round nomination. And likely, these kinds of antics will cause them to be eliminated in all other rounds, should Trump not go into the Convention withe 1237.

Advice to the GOPee: Swallow the Trump pill. Work with it Live with it. There will always be another election cycle in two years and you’ll get another chance. If Hillary or Bernie or “Other” gets elected don’t bet on that option. The SCOTUS appointment still loom large.

The fact that Cruz has not dropped out proves he’s a megalomaniac.

The campaign is on Quaaludes or something....dopey talk.

Cruz has ZERO mathematical shot at winning.

“We’ve already lost, but we weren’t getting these delegates anyway.”

Press release from losing football team: “We’ve already lost, so we don’t expect to get any more points that make a difference...”

Well, duh.

Trump is performing strong in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. I had these for Kasich, so if the Trump vote holds fast there, Trump could very well top 50% in PA.

Kasich should have dropped out long ago...the other losing candidates did...but Kasich has Soros money to burn...he is an embarrassment to Ohio as well as the entire U.S.

Cruz is desperate, yet he faces a TV camera and states, I am winning, I am the Only one to beat Hillary, I will have the support of all Americans!!! yep, Trump said he is a LIAR and he sure proves Trump correct.

I'm so tired of all this, time to get down to business and stop the dirty politics...that is one reason Trump has crowds at his rallies and the other two can't even show a small crowd...

WAKE UP GOP, OR YOU WILL BE NO MORE.

FOX just showed Kasich eating his breakfast!!! with mic’s in his face...Kasich chews with his mouth open and talks with food in his mouth...such sloppy manners...

and he said...’I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN BEAT HILLARY’.

AND CRUZ SAID THAT SAME THING LAST NIGHT...

THESE TWO BOYS, KASICH AND CRUZ BOTH NEED TO GROW UP AND DROP THIS DIRTY PLAYING GAMES, THEY HAVE CONCOCTED. WE AMERICANS WILL DESTROY THEM BOTH...

Why is no one calling the Collusionists out on their basic hypothesis? That is that Cruz votes would go to Ksick and vice versa.

This is why they won't "swallow" the Trump pill. A lot of Senators and Representatives have their campaign cash staked on TPP, not going to let go.

Obama Confident Trans-Pacific Partnership Will Pass After Political Primaries

But notice the press doesn't report this. Just like when Obama said he'd have more flexibility after the election.

Yeah. Why upload stuff like this that can be used against you?? Not good strategic thinking. What is so interesting is this video is from the Cruz video dump to the internet for PACs to use. Campaigns can’t give video directly to PACs but can upload video to the internet then PACs can grab it to use in ads.

What a contrast to Trump who is completely genuine and un scripted. No need to do fake video for PAC use, Trump has disavowed all PACs.

Sure. McCain, Romney, the whole gang./s All of them together cannot generate the kind of life pulse that Trump has brought to the party. He will definitely Make America Great Again.
