Trump Headed For Big Wins in CT/PA/RI (Trump over 50 in all)
PPP ^ | 4/25/2016 | PPP

Things aren’t nearly so competitive on the Republican side, with Donald Trump getting a majority of voters in each state. He’s strongest in Rhode Island where he gets 61% to 23% for John Kasich, and 13% for Ted Cruz. The numbers are very similar in Connecticut with Trump getting 59% to 25% for Kasich, and 13% for Cruz. Things are a little bit different in Pennsylvania where Trump’s share of the vote isn’t as high (51%) and Cruz edges out Kasich 25/22 for second place. None of these states are particularly amenable to the ‘Never Trump’ movement. Trump has the highest favorability rating of the GOP candidates in each state, and also handily wins head to head match ups with Cruz and Kasich in all three states. One thing that comes across in all these places is how unpopular Cruz is- he’s way under water even with Republican primary voters.

Cruz is hugely unpopular but won’t get out. When he can’t get his way he just wants to burn down the house. Just like in the Senate.

We need Ted to somehow do what is right for the country...and that is burying the war hatchet and ultimately supporting Trump.

Look, I proudly campaigned for, donated to, and voted for Cruz in Idaho.

But the facts on the ground now are what they are, and there is no denying them.

Trump is headed to the nomination and will arrive at the convention with either more delegates than he needs to win, or he will be very, very close. At this stage, I believe he is going to have more than the 1,237.

At this stage there is only one strategy that the GOP can take to win...and I believe if they do it, then we would win in November.

The true goal is to defeat Hillary in November and prevent a 3rd Obama term...which would be an abject disaster for all of America.

So, Cruz simply MUST ultimately support Donald Trump and he must do it for the good of the country. He, and Kasich, and Rubio and all of the others....including all of us, are going to have to get together and beat Hillary.

I believe if Cruz sincerely buried the war hatchet and characterized the stakes in these terms...and if the GOP united behind that idea, that we would win in November.

Those may not be the facts I had hoped for...but they are the facts on the ground.

As to Trump...I penned this some time ago, and believe it holds true now too:

The Trump Phenomenon
http://www.jeffhead.com/Trump-Phenom.htm

Cruz supporters (like me) simply must set emotion, pride and hurt feelings aside for the good of the nation at this point. It is that simple.

I also recently wrote a letter to Ted Cruz encouraging him to take this path:

Man, if Trump can get around 60% in CT and RI tomorrow, over 50% in DE and PA, and over 45% in MD in a three-way race, which all look doable, there will be no possible way to spin this but as a blowout victory. Such a group of overwhelming victories will make even his NY results look small. It looks like he may very well get over 100 pledged delegates too (not to mention dozens of unbound delegates, who have already said they will either vote for him or the winner, which will also be Trump).

I’m feeling happy today. The light is visible at the end of the tunnel for the Trump train. It won’t be long before it pulls into the station with over 1237 onboard.

“Time for new polls other than the tired old one that “Trump can’t beat Hillary””

All you have to do is go back to the Reagan/Carter race.
Carter was way ahead of Reagan at this time in the race and we saw what happened there. It was a blow out in the end.

Thanks.

Here’s a great site counting delegates, and predicting delegate targets for each candidate to make the nomination.

Of course, now, only one can actually do that before the convention, and that is Donald Trump.

I was actually making fun of Romney. He was a weak, pathetic sorry excuse for a fighter for the right. Sorry - should have used my /s tag.

I’m sure Cruz will support Trump if Trump becomes the nominee. I would like to think every Republican will support Trump if he is the nominee, but am afraid a significant segment of GOP women will switch to Hillary. This is a dynamic coming out of the candidates themselves and people’s reactions to them and not something anyone writing on the internet can change.

We need to also make sure that Trump and his supporters support whoever the nominee is. Defeating Hillary must be our united focus no matter who the nominee is.

This time it seems to be not working, at least not as well...

Maybe enough Americans are finally suspicious of accepting what they are told, are now researching for themselves online, and that will be enough that for this election cycle the usual tricks fall flat and the propaganda is recognized to be the smoke and mirrors that it is. Let’s hope so - Go Trump!

I think Trump himself is part of what is going on. The media has been trotting out its usual lying and smearing tactics, but we already know Donald Trump, thanks to his decades of being in the public eye. Why would we believe media lies when we already have gotten to know the man for ourselves?

Congrats on being an ex Dem!

Thank you!

Lol!

Better watch out if Trump continues to fail miserably the way you say. We’ll be stuck with him for two terms!

Go, Trump!

Kasick bases his entire political reality upon cooked polls.

Could be, I honestly haven't paid much attention to Kasich. He has run a few ads in Maryland, and they are completely unexciting.

That issue is certainly more important than the economy, terrorism, illegals, taxes, trade, gun rights, etc.
