Ted Cruz, John Kasich join forces to stop Donald Trump
CNN ^ | April 24, 2016 | David Mark

Ted Cruz and John Kasich issued startling statements Sunday night about their paths ahead, the first sign the two campaigns are coordinating to deny Donald Trump the Republican presidential nomination.

Within minutes of each other, the pair issued statements saying they will divide their efforts in upcoming contests with Cruz focusing on Indiana and Kasich devoting his efforts to Oregon and New Mexico. The strategy is aimed at blocking Trump from gaining the 1,237 delegates necessary to claim to GOP nomination this summer.

So whats the “principled conservative” spin on this Marlowe? The spin should be enough to speed up the rotation of the planet I bet.

Then why is Trump beating beat Cruz like a drum, Tex?

Trump is winning because he won plurality votes in 20 of 32 state primaries and caucuses. (NY was a majority.) That is a mathematical reality. It's not anti/pro Trump.

What we have here is a pair of low lifes.

You may be right, but that is a matter of opinion.

More objectivly, what we have here is a pair of REPUBLICANS!

Look, Cruz is getting trashed, not by Trump but from millions of his American supporters, “the people”. Trump is winning support from the majority of the American people. On the R side this is not happening with Kasich or Cruz. This goes beyond this party line thing. Folks are crossing over, non-voters are again voting. And based on what we’ve all seen, this isn’t even debatable.

I look forward to hearing your plans.

If you think it’s going to go on forever like it has been, you’d be way off.

“Well done Cruz! Most Freepers want a prolife President.”

Well since there are no other issues that matter, let’s go ahead and support the candidate who’s really, really, really pro-life (at least he says he is) rather than the candidate who’s just pro-life. That way we’ll have a President who appoints a really, really, really strong constitutional conservative to the Supreme Court (like John Roberts for example) rather than one who just appoints a strong constitutional conservative. Because, again, there are no other issues that matter this election.

This story is infuriating, of course, but I think it also represents the death knell of both campaigns.

Once again, Cruz is exposed and confirmed as an abettor of the GOPe. Teaming up with John Kasich removes any remaining doubt.

And the American People, including GOP voters, are well aware of all this. That's why Cruz has collapsed in the polls and now trails John Kasich in many states.

If their scheme is ultimately successful in forcing a contested convention, of course, it would completely doom the GOP in November. There would be dire consequences for such treachery. If such underhanded efforts succeeded in denying Donald Trump the nomination, this would:

The GOPe must be stopped at all costs. If they succeed, the party burns and America burns.

The mask is off for Ted Cruz, as well as his supporters. There can no longer be any doubt that Ted Cruz is an unprincipled, naked opportunist who is putting his own personal ambition ahead of party unity and the future of the country. There can no longer be any doubt that their ilk seeks to maintain the Uniparty status quo in Washington DC.

No Trump, no unity. No Trump, no victory.

Vote Trump

WONDER EXACTLY HOW ted stabs kasich in the back...

Maine Gov. Paul LePage accused the Ted Cruz campaign Friday of going back on a promise to back a “unity slate” of the state’s delegates, a move that the Donald Trump supporter saw as “stabbing us in the back.”

In a statement, LePage said, “We reached a deal with Cruz’s national campaign to put up a unity slate that would honor the wishes of the thousands of Mainers who voted at caucus. But Cruz’s Northeast Political Director David Sawyer lied to us and broke the deal. Sawyer stabbed us in the back, reneged on the unity slate, and betrayed the people of Maine.”

The fight is emblematic of the intense battle for delegates heading into the Republican National Convention in July. Cruz’s campaign is pushing for every delegate it can collect to prevent Trump from winning the 1,237 he needs to win the nomination outright and force a floor fight. Both Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich need to win more delegates than are available in the remaining primary contests to win the GOP nomination on the first ballot.

Though he singled out Sawyer in his statement, LePage said the actions were emblematic of the Cruz campaign. “As we have seen throughout the country, Cruz’s national campaign is run by greedy political hoooligans.”

“I can’t stand by and watch as Cruz and the Republican Establishment forcibly overrule the votes of Mainers who chose Trump and Kasich,” he said. “I call on Senator Cruz to condemn Sawyer’s disrespectful and dishonest tactics in Maine.”

GOPe wants Hillary to win. It's obvious.

She's one of "them" and will keep the money flowing into their pockets from lobbyists. Don't forget all the hot female lobbyists that give special "favors" to politicians.

They are afraid that Trump can't be bribed and will try to put a stop to the corrupt scumbags that run this country.

Keep in mind the T rumpster is popular with only a minority of the electorate. Slim and nearly none are his long term Presidential prospects.
No one beyond T Cruz knows what his own intentions are at this time.
Near as I can tell he is complying with the delegate selection rules of each state. He is way too smart for the undisciplined and buffoonish nature of trump. Yes Cruz has likely sealed any future political office aspirations with this move. Going for broke, in with both feet it seems.

Still fun to watch the show and public over the top displays on this site.
