Nineteen of Cruz's slate of 20 delegates were picked for the Republican national convention, meaning that at least 19 out of the 23 delegates Maine will send to the convention in Cleveland will be Cruz supporters which would benefit the Texas senator if the Republican presidential-selection process goes to multiple ballots.
Back in March, Cruz won Maine's caucus contest, grabbing 12 pledged delegates versus nine for Donald Trump and two for John Kasich. The delegates who were chosen in Maine are bound to reflect that allocation on the first ballot of voting.
But if no presidential candidate wins a majority of the 2,472 delegates, then many of these reps would be free to support the candidate of their choice after a first round of voting at the convention.

This isn’t about Trump.
This is about a pattern of behavior on the part of Ted Cruz.
Exactly...Trump’s pattern of behavior.....!
A flat out GREAT letter! What is now known about the globalist puppet lyin’ Ted Cruz, (and his wife/stooge for The NWO/Goldman Sachs/NAU), to think there is even one supporter of his left here on FR is just unbelievable. Paid trolls probably.
Trump- abortion, late term abortion, eminent domain land seizures, lower taxes/higher axes depending on who he is talking to. Talks with NY Times seem to indicate he does not plan to implement what he says. Claims to be different from 0bama, but what is the difference?
Here’s some facts for you:
Obuma: 3 year Senator; father foreign born, mother went to Kenya, came back had a baby... Ran for the Senate, won, was a Harvard graduate; ran for pResident won...
Cruz: 3 year Senator; father foreign born, mother went to England, had a baby, came back, married a man who was already married and had 2 daughters, went to Canada and had a baby...also a Harvard graduate, was running for pResident, but can’t get the votes to get elected...
If the polls hold, Trump will be well over 1237.
Trump = Open restrooms.
And Cruz created more hatred of himself and the GOP. Congrats.
Donald Trump was asked about anti-transgender bathroom bills. His answer was correct.
Updated by German Lopez on April 21, 2016, 10:40 a.m. ET
On Thursday, Donald Trump was asked about laws that discriminate against a minority group. But it didn’t go how you might think.
Trump was asked about North Carolina’s anti-LGBTQ law specifically, its ban on transgender people using the bathroom in schools and government buildings that aligns with their gender identity. He came out in opposition to North Carolina’s law.
“North Carolina did something [that] was very strong, and they’re paying a big price, and there’s a lot of problems,” Trump said at a town hall with the Today show, referring to the “economic punishment” the state is seeing as a result of the law.
Trump then said that North Carolina shouldn’t have made changes restricting trans people’s bathroom use: “There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate, there has been so little trouble.”
Asked whether he would let Caitlyn Jenner, a trans woman, use the bathroom of her choice at Trump Tower, he said he would. He added, “There’s a big move to create new bathrooms. Problem with that is first of all, I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country. Leave it the way it is.”
Trump is right.
For one, North Carolina has already jeopardized plenty of future business through the passage of its law. In the last month, the state lost hundreds of potential jobs after PayPal and Deutsche Bank pulled expansions in protest of the law. A+E Networks and 21st Century Fox said they would reconsider using North Carolina as a filming location in the future. And more than 130 major CEOs signed a letter asking North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory to repeal the law.
Supporters of anti-trans laws like North Carolina’s claim that letting trans people use the bathroom of their choice will allow men to go into women’s bathrooms and sexually assault and harass women. But, as Trump said, there are generally no major problems if trans people are allowed to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity.
Experts from 12 states with laws that protect LGBTQ people from discrimination told Media Matters that they don’t know of a single reported instance of sexual assaults in bathrooms stemming from the laws, which generally allow trans people to use the bathroom of their choice.
And I rest my case. I do not want to be ruled by idiots.
Bye Bye...apparently you didn’t read Jim’s article from yesterday, your loss...
Cruz is a flat out lying crook. If he was really principled he would drop out like Rubio did, but no.......all he does now is try to steal delegates with the GOPe’s blessings.
“Its their social life. They want to belong and feel important.”
I saw the same type, and a bit nerdy.
I am applauding!!
So he’s doubling his ballot count?
If we wanted to vote for someone that thinks he’s God, we would be supporting Cruz, but we’re not.
~~Go Trump, GO!!~~ ~~Go Trump, GO!!~~ ~~Go Trump, GO!!~~ ~~Go Trump, GO!!~~
Thank you...I am not going to respond only to give facts...most of these cruz people are paid hacks...Hillary says she’s going to start this also...
I’m a very loyal Trump Supporter and have been since the day he announced, he is the ONLY one that can save America and bring her back to her Greatness, and honor all those who gave their lives and body parts for defending her!!!
GO.TRUMP.GO!!! ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!
More vivid illustrations of why the political party system is rotten to the core and needs to be BURNED TO THE GROUND.
“Outmaneuvered by Cruz”? Seriously? The entire GOPe is behind this corruption. It has nothing to do with “ground game.” Cruz is their man...until Trump is denied 1237...ten they will drop him in a second for an establishment sure loser.
