The governor and the Republican party of Maine want to press for a "unity ticket" to go to Cleveland that perfectly represents the will of the voters of Maine. For that to happen, the convention needs to pick 12 Cruz loyalists, 9 Trump loyalists, and 2 Kasich loyalists. There is no guarantees, but these loyalists would most likely vote for their guy through several ballots. The Cruz team had agreed with this plan all week, but last night, the national Cruz camp said no way, we are going after all 23 delegates and demand they ALL be Cruz loyalists.
