Ted Cruz, Facing Hard G.O.P. Path, Seeks a Good Argument
New York Times ^ | 04/22/2016 | MATT FLEGENHEIMER

Donald J. Trump says the abstruse Republican delegate system distorts the will of the people.

Senator Ted Cruz says the party’s nominating rules have been in place from the beginning.

Mr. Cruz is right, and he may be losing the public argument anyway.

With polls showing a strong preference for nominating the candidate with the most popular votes — even if he fails to secure a majority of delegates before the convention in July — Mr. Cruz has brushed up this week against an uncomfortable reality: His only road to victory is a messy one.

<< “ more people are seeing Cruz as the establishment candidate that he has always been. Cruz and his team put the Con in Conservative.” >>

Pathway to legalization
Corker Bill supporting
North American Union agenda pusher
John Roberts Supreme Court picker
Globalist funded s@b
Dead silent on the Mississippi Treatment, while serving on the NRSC, and forking over $250,000.00 which funded it.
This is the stuff he put his signature to in the Senate.
Checks to the wrong people for the wrong reason.

To his flock of geese he just waves that Bible, the flag and the Constitution. That is all the intellectual buzz they need to mule for the emperor with no clothes.

Apparently your reading comprehension isn’t so good, since I said coming to save us.

I get it, you’re desperate. The country is still going to collapse. The sooner you accept it, the better you’ll cope with it.

Barbarism eventually fades and order gets restored, but not overnight.

Cruz needs to drop out and get back to work on becoming Commissar and Premier in the NORTH AMERICAN UNION, which was the plan of his and Heidi’s to begin with. An entity where being CANADIAN, and having zero birth ties or allegiance to the USA won’t matter, will actually be a plus, and as Heidi laid out at the CFR, dissolve all borders in North America so that all Mexicans can move to the USA and take all jobs.

There is no good argument for dividing the party and causing Hillary to be elected.

Except for ambition large enough for one to ignore the Constitution. Art II Sec.1

I hope DT can actually learn something from Cruz’s campaign agenda. It means he might be able to learn if he gets to the White House.

“Can Donald Trump really hit 1,237 before Cleveland?”

LOL I was just thinking how similar this election is to when I used to watch the Eagles with Cunningham and “Buddy-ball.” Never knew until the last play.

Has anyone seen or heard the video of the 1990 song written by Prince that refers to a strong Black woman yearning for a strong Black man (Trump version)? It is awesome!!! The “Trump” folks ought to get it, and, make an “AWESOME” Trump video out of it. Evidently, Prince was a strong supporter of Donald J. Trump!!! GO DONALD J. TRUMP!!! Bye, bye....Teddie Cruz!!!

“.....the party’s nominating rules have been in place from the beginning. Mr. Cruz is right,....”

Is English liberals 2nd language?

Why don’t they understand that people were unaware that when they voted for a candidate in their primary that it didn’t count for shite!

They though, wrongly so, that they were electing a delegate who would vote for their candidate if their candidate won.

Sorry Charlie. Silly Wabbit, votes are for politicos who decide who your vote goes to, not you.

Cruz has no road to victory. The next 5-6 primaries are going to rub his face in it and the calls for him to get out are just around the corner. Ted Cruz has nobody but himself to blame for the pathetic mess he finds himself in. He is arrogantly ambitious, reckless even and self destructive. I have zero sympathy for him. I could have taken his delegate count and negotiated myself a sweet deal in Trump’s administration and then bided my time for 8 years and made another run at it.

Cruz wants to burn the house down if it does not go his way. That’s why he has had no success in the Senate and has just balled up his candidacy beyond belief. Politics is not for everyone. I think Cruz will do much better in private practice.

I agree with your analysis but....

Lets not crow about it. The folks who liked Cruz have to come to realize this on their own.

if it had been the other way, if Cruz was in Trumps position, the trump fans would have to accept Cruz eventually.

For the good of everyone folks on this site should not try to rub peoples nose in it. if Trump is in fact going to win convincingly, it will be more apparent after each primary.

I expect that Trump will win all 5 on Tuesday, based on the polling. latest poll from Indiana shows trump up by 6

Let the vote tallies make the argument, it is a lot easier to accept when it is from an objective source. I say that as someone who was very disappointed in 2012, I was a Ginrich fan and had to accept Romney. Ended up voting for his with pleasure but it took some time to do so.

Senator Ted Cruz says the party’s nominating rules have been in place from the beginning. Mr. Cruz is right, and he may be losing the public argument anyway.

Cruz keeps saying, "Well, you should have worked the rules. I have a great ground game." But Trump was way ahead of him. Trump knows the media game, and plays it like an orchestra.
