The following quotation has been attributed to Tytler, although it has also been occasionally attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville:
A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

Ship millions of American jobs and entire industries overseas and then import millions of low wage illegals into the country?
And some people are struggling to figure out what happened? They’re surprised were in decline?

How many of those families are retired? If they’re counted in, the percentage doesn’t seem that high.

Rolling Stones - Hang Fire
In the sweet old country where I come from
Nobody ever works
Yeah nothing gets done
We hang fire, we hang fire
You know marrying money is a full time job
I don’t need the aggravation
I’m a lazy slob
I hang fire, I hang fire
Hang fire, put it on the wire
We’ve got nothing to eat
We got nowhere to work
Nothing to drink
We just lost our shirts
I’m on the dole
We ain’t for hire
Say what the hell
Say what the hell, hang fire
Hang fire, hang fire, put it on the wire
Doo doo doo
Take a thousand dollars go have some fun
Put it all on at a hundred to one
Hang fire, hang fire, put it on the wire

Also - when leftists talk about income distribution in the USA, it should be noted that the bottom 20% of income earners are there for the same reason - no one in the family is working.
By having one person working a typical, median wage job, a family immediately moves close to the 50% level of income distribution.

I bet they were mostly fat too.

My widowed mother and all her 75- to 95-year-old friends in the Independent Living building count as “families” in which “no one works.”

a stat that is more to the point: over 90 million people of working age are unemployed in the US. That is 25% of Americans are unemployed. The obozo and his federal liars corp reports the unemployment rate is 5%. And there really is a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow.
To: Cheerio
20% not working = full employment under this administration.
