No Republican is going to win in NY. But part of the rationale for Trump's campaign is the assertion that he's going to put deep blue states like NY, MA, CT, etc. into play. That's nonsense.
Trump is the weakest general election candidate we could field. The Trumpkins will differ, of course, on the theory that the polls will magically shift when Donald starts "catering" to a general election audience. That he will do so by throwing the conservative base under the bus goes without saying.
That's not the point. No GOP candidate will win win deep blue states like New York.
Trump will have to work hard in November to win staunchly red states [and we've all seen how hard the Donald campaign works in individual states(/sarc)].
Cruz - on the other hand - could beat Hillary in purple states like Iowa, Wisconsin, Colorado & New Mexico. Trump is so despised in those states and will lose by +15% to Hillary.
A credible conservative has the best chance to beat Hillary. Who do you think that would be?
