And Andrew Jackson, who in many ways incarnates everything that is awful about America (racist, jingoistic, power-mad, genocidal, and more), will still be on the back of the bill.
Something that got missed in all the buzz about the change.
FWIW, somebody at Reason commented on the irony of Jackson, who didn't like paper money, being on fiat currency.
Slippery slope to Angela Davis on the C-note and no white man anywhere.
Tubman’s accomplishments, real or imagined, do not rise to the level of her image being enshrined on US currency. Period.
Another very poor move by the fed. All about dividing people.
It was the federal military that ended slavery at the cost of over 100,000 (?) US Army soldiers killed in or resulting from combat and tens of thousands others dead from disease. Of course, there were terrible losses on the other side as well and among the civilian population. (And I am not implying that the Confederate soldiers were fighting primarily to preserve slavery.) Not to take anything away from Tubman but if it is all about freeing the Black man, then maybe Sherman or some other Civil War soldier should join Grant on our paper currency.
This plight of the lowly negro shit is getting old.
This is bs. Tubman has no place on a bill.
The myths of Harriet Tubman:

Someone pained a mural of her holding a rifle. They did not want her to be seen holding a(gasp) HANDGUN!
How come Margaret Sanger is not being chosen? She is female and was deeply involved in the lives of black people and her beliefs and intentions are still impacting blacks today.
America has gone insane.
oh, my number was way, way low
