The "Moses" of the Underground Railroad exemplified belief in self-ownership, liberty, equality before the law, and more.
So Harriet Tubman (1822-1913) is going to be the new face of the $20 bill. Great choice, yes. The only downside, really, is that the bills won't be released until 2026 or later, by which point they'll be worth, what, about $10 in today's fiat currency? And Andrew Jackson, who in many ways incarnates everything that is awful about America (racist, jingoistic, power-mad, genocidal, and more), will still be on the back of the bill.

Democrats will be erased from history? I'm conflicted about that.
Someone pained a mural of her holding a rifle. They did not want her to be seen holding a(gasp) HANDGUN!
How come Margaret Sanger is not being chosen? She is female and was deeply involved in the lives of black people and her beliefs and intentions are still impacting blacks today.
Amen! This lauding of Tubman is pathetic. Ecspecally with all the disparaging and anti-white BS. If Jackson is an evil racist so is Washington, Jefferson, Henry and thousands of the men and women who forged this nation. Most/all of our founders and history is evil and our history is bogus and we as a nation are illegitimate.
All these ‘republicans’ celebrating this can go to hell.
Wow, that goes back. Totally forgot all about it. Had to Google it to refresh my memory. No way she should get any honors for her life, that’s for sure!
America has gone insane.
It's everywhereclothing ads, new medicine ads, billboards, toilet paper wrappers, dry cereal boxes. You'd think we once had diversity in the US.
Very true. Her eugenics ideals and programs have resulted in the extremely high percentage of blacks being annihilated via abortion now.
To me it was typical liberal hype and revisionist biography.
Perhaps — but I wouldn’t have had the courage to do what she did even on a miniscule level, so she’s got my respect.
“I don’t think putting Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill humiliates white men or anyone else.”
You couldn’t be more wrong.
“And I doubt that Tubman herself would have much use for today’s liberals. She was a tough lady, not some hyper-sensitive snowflake in need of a safe space.”
So irrelevant that contemplating your reasons for posting it makes one look like a dog listening to a strange sound.
There were many whites who did more than Tubman. The only reason her name has become known in the past couple of decades is that the drooling leftist morons were so desperate to find a negro female “hero.”
But you just jump right on that bandwagon. After all, they’re only out to destroy you and your country, together with everyone and everything you love.
I have no problem of what she did, it’s the way liberal revisionist history changed her biography to promoter her as someone who didn’t do what they wrote she did.
That’s true, I agree with you there. But I think we can celebrate her for what she did do. I don’t think Jackson should be replaced, though.
It’s political correctness pandering IMHO.
oh, my number was way, way low
