Full Title: Meet the 11-year-old girl whose letter to President Obama led to plans for the first woman on US currency in more than a century
A woman will feature on US currency for the first time in more than 100 years - thanks to the efforts of an 11-year-old girl.
Sofia, from Cambridge in Massachusetts, had written to President Barack Obama in 2014 after a school project on historic American heroes.
'I realized no women had their face on our currency, so I went home and wrote the letter,' she told WCVB.
The schoolgirl demanded to know why there were no women on US bills, as 'if there were no women, there wouldn't be men'.

Exactly! I respect that what Tubman was and accomplished as a person. US history is full of such extraordinary everyday heros. But, our money has stood the test of time by honoring the very people who founded this great experiment. The image of Tubman on the new 20 looks like a bad photoshop using a old photo from 1860. It looks cheap like Zimbaye money. Debasement indeed...as intended.
Possibly. The U.S. mint engraving dept may have used a live model to perfect the plates.
Personally, I am fine with getting rid of that old, white, slave-owning Democrat, and replacing him with a black, female, Republican leader.
The whole woman-on-currency thing was discussed in detail many years ago. It resulted in the Susan B. and the Sacca-jee, those wildly successful coins. < /sarc >

She is a kid. Kids need to be kids and if we can find some adults to run the country we need to let them. We have not tried that for a long time.
