A little while back we told you about how the CEO of Hardees/Carl’s Jr. was thinking about replacing employees with machines thanks to the ridiculous minimum wage hike to $15.

Well, it appears he has done it.

It was only a matter of time before this started to happen and you can expect to see more of this in the future.

I balance that with all the extra bodily fluids that could be inserted into my burger because some minimum wage cretin didn’t like my old white a$$.

I can always wash my hands; I can’t puke up that stuff after I’ve eaten it.

That’s why I don’t go to fast food places.

I’ve used them at several restaurants to pay. Ordering doesn’t seem to work too well. The lack of personal interaction is strange though. They still want a tip though.

Looks like the only ones going to make $15.00 an hour are the porcelain polishers.

If the entire world were automated, what would the humans do?

Good idea. You’ve had MRSA? Darn! Best wishes to you. It is not an easy thing to recover from. Both my mom and my dad had it.

Some bathrooms include a trash can right by the door so that people can use the towel that they dried their hands with to open the door. I always do this. And my wife carries a bottle of disinfectant lotion with her and she is always squirting a bit into everyone’s hands when we are in public places.

Yup. You don't want to know where those dollar bills have been. Lol.

I don't use cash anymore but point well taken.

I assume you never use a bank ATM or a debit card at the grocery. It is becoming more and more common to see electronic devices used widely in public used by hundreds of people daily.

The smart humans would let market forces set wages for unskilled entry level jobs that would make the cost of automation unprofitable. Automation comes primarily when labor costs become artificially high.

Not if the entire world is automated.

Actually, it’s already there. All they have to do is just turn the screens around so they face the customer. They already had to make the terminals idjit proof, so just eliminate one idjit and let the idjit customers press the touch screen. Orders will probably be more correct than having the counter idjit have to translate/understand the customer’s order, then press the touch screen. Just eliminating the middle man/idjit.

This takes it to the next level.

And I wonder how often the touch screens are cleaned and with something like bleach which is typically used in a fast foot rest for the counters, table tops and floors and bathrooms.

So the touch screens may get cleaned even less or not at all; never.

And the person who is not hygienically inclined and just used the rest room, has an infection like hep A... well yuck!

Jason’s Deli has this but it’s a pain to use if all you want is a basic salad bar. You have to say “no” to numerous up-sells for each person’s order before you can close the ticket and pay. I use the regular cashier unless there’s a line.

Yeah, but do they have transgender bathrooms? That’s what’s really important.

Did you let them know about it, and your reason? Enough public opinion changes corporate minds, but they have to know about it.

Sure did. Let corporate know that we were done. Received a pathetic canned response.

look at us......rallying for machines to replace humans....

you know, those teenagers need jobs too...

and the housewives trying to bring a couple of extra dollars for the family...

and the elderly looking also to supplement their SS....

its not their fault that the politicians are trying to kill off their jobs....

every job for the most part is important and so while we can make fun of the hamburger flippers, remember its a JOB...and they're doing a JOB.....

or would so many just want them to be lazy at home and live off SSDI.????

It won’t be long, now, before we can stop paying for “English for Speakers of Other Languages” courses!

I’d be surprised if there isn’t an app so people can order from their table using their phone, including electronic payment. No more standing in line, no more grimy cash.
