Department Heads we like

I would hope that Trump will select cabinet secretaries and agency heads who are competent hard headed leaders and managers - not someone who passes muster as folks "we" whoever we is like. We have all kinds of folks running agencies now who are liked by someone. They cannot manager their deputies to get them a cup of coffee. They are incompetent. It is a long time since we had a Dean Acheson or George C Marshall as a cabinet secretary.

“The campaign has not been effective in engaging the delegates,”

Who cares about the delegates for the banana republican party? They are not the People. Trump would not be Trump if he were to buy off delegates like Cruz has been doing - either with cash and favors or with political promises - it demonstrates why the whole system is so corrupt - we promise you a fair choice between our stooge who will make sure that party favors are spread about pretty broadly and their stooge.

What Trump has done is show to the world how rotten the whole corrupt game is. By the time one of their candidates gets nominated he stinks to high heaven with corruption. That is what has happened to Cruz - he reeks of black slime mold from dealing with delegates and he cannot see it.

What they're doing is placing their loyalty to their failed candidate above the interests of both the party and the country.

The problem with this statement is that the interests of the party are not aligned with the interests of the People. Pushing Cruz and getting a contested convention is in the interests of the party. We will not get Cruz out of it, no matter what happens. We might get Trump, much watered down and weakened with compromises with the party, or we will get some Romney/McCain stand-in. That is in the interests of the party.

But, the banana republicans are corrupt. It is like worrying about what is in the interests of the mob.

Thank you.

Other than being a contributor and supporter, I have no special pull.

I sent it to an email address they reserved for monetary contributions and posted it elsewhere.

Cruz need not end his campaign.

However, I would say after Indiana, he could make the accommodation with Trump, end all of the nastiness, and proceed forward knowing that at the convention, if Trump needs the support to get him over the top, Cruz could provide it.

...and starting then, (after Indiana) reset the tone and begin talking about a united GOP for November, whomever the candidate is, including Trump.

What is needed is for Sruz and Trump to come together, end the war, and begin making comments in the press indicating that they are coming together.

Cruz can do all of that without officially ending the campaign...but still facilitating a united party behind Trump when he goes over the top.

Thank you for those very kind words. They are, really, too kind. But I graciously thank you for them.

I have five kids and 11 grandkids.

I have a serious cancer condition.

I want to see the country turnaround for the sake of my family and all Americans.

I have not sent it to any of the talk shows.

Perhaps I will try.

The corrected version (spelling fixed, typos fixed, etc.) in post 90 is the one to send.

Feel free to do so.

I will be posting it on my JEFFHEAD.COM site today.

No worries.

Each has every right to their own opinion ...as well they should...on these matters.

I wrote what I felt. I know full well that I am no one to these people. I can only hope someone sees it and passes it on.

That part is in God’s hands. I did my part in doing my best to communicate sincerely.

Every day I listen carefully to hear something to make me believe that Trump is moving toward conservative principles. So far today, he has again tacked in the opposite direction.

With all due respect, I must tell you that I believe that your reasoning about this matter here is not quite sound:

- First of all, “ugly fights” do not have to necessarily occur during a contested convention. If each candidate (Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, or anyone else) behaves properly and encourages his supporters (and everybody else) to behave the same appropriate way, there is no reason to fear that we may expect serious disturbance during the July Republican Convention in Cleveland, Ohio (also security forces will be present there to prevent trouble-makers to disruptively interfere).

- Secondly, it is not because Ted Cruz would withdraw from the presidential race before the July Republican Convention (to prevent disorders or disputes during the Convention, or because some other reasons), that another Republican Nominee (Donald Trump?) might necessarily be more appealing to the voters nationwide and will be able to actually win the Presidential Elections in November. At that time, many people (faithful supporters of Ted Cruz, dedicated conservative individuals, Tea Party sympathizers, Evangelical Christians, independent voters, etc.), may simply stay at home on Election Day, if the Republican Official Candidate is not really able to motivate them much. In such a case, Hillary Clinton (or Bernie Sanders) will rather easily become our next president (this is not a “far-fetched” scenario!).

- Finally, it seems to me that you don’t quite fully understand the strength of the Christian and Personal Character of Senator Ted Cruz. In Matthew 10:22, Jesus said: “You will be hated by all men because of my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end, shall be saved.” Christians like Ted Cruz understand three teachings from this verse:

- Christian Believers will definitely meet many people who do not like them (you will be hated by all men). There is no doubt that Ted Cruz knows that a number of people will unquestionably be against him.

- It is this way because of Christ’s name that Jesus’s disciples meet such an opposition. As long as Ted Cruz wants to do what is right and good in God’s eyes for America (and for the world), he knows that, because of his Christian and Conservative Principles and Convictions, he is going to meet a significant resistance, while pushing forward.

- Christians are not taken by surprise when they meet difficulties. They know that they have to resist evil and fight when facing adversities. Therefore, Ted Cruz does not give up (or give in) so easily, because, according to the last part of the quoted verse (Mat. 10:22), he knows that to succeed, he must persevere until the end.

During presidential races, those who run must show that they are not easily discouraged by some various types of antagonism, nasty allegations, disparaging criticism, bad advice, setbacks, or other problems. In such circumstances, how the presidential candidates react can demonstrate the quality of their individual competences. A clear aspect of Ted Cruz’s personal character is that he is quite determined (some may say “driven”) to reach his goal, without never wavering.

In conclusion, I would say that to expect that Ted Cruz may somehow be dissuaded to continue his presidential race, just because of some hostility that he may find on his path (at the Republican Convention, or elsewhere), would be anticipating something that is obviously not going to happen. Ted Cruz knows better indeed! (… and his faithful supporters also know better!)

I believe the honorable thing would be to have said, “I won’t accept any delegates from a state where the people have no voice and aren’t allowed to vote.” Americans would respect this position much more than another politician celebrating “voterless” election wins where the citizens of a state (including our deployed military personnel) were not given the right to vote.

In this case the winner is chosen by party elites and not by the people. That is acceptable practice in communist countries but doesn’t sit well here in the USA.

Cruz is gloating over his “voterless” wins and military people are thinking - “Hey, this guy thinks it’s perfectly ok for a young person to die in combat overseas but if they don’t have the right to vote in their state - to Cruz it’s no problem.”

Well, we have a BIG problem with his position.

Don't you think he's only calling out what he isn't benefiting from or loosing?

No, I don't.

P.S. You deranged Cruzoids make the error of thinking that Trumps supporters spout stuff because Trump spouted it. Well you are dead as hell wrong. We spout this stuff because we believe it is true. If Trump takes it up, well more power to him, but most of us are not pursuaded in our views because of Trump. Trump if anything is supported by us because he is parroting our views.

I know that it is hard for you drunk with Cruzaid folks to understand, but some of us actually come to our views independently of the elitists appointed to guide us on the correct path to political perdition.

The problem is that Donald Trump is a progressive conman and friend of Clinton. He can’t beat her and isn’t trying.

Sure, I would say if you are mathematically eliminated, you should withdraw. Kasich and Cruz, at this point, should withdraw. Of course, that means Trump would win because he'd win all the remaining delegates.

But I don't think Kasich or Cruz have enough integrity to do what they want others to do...

....”most of us are not pursuaded in our views because of Trump. Trump if anything is supported by us because he is parroting our views”.......

Except he doesn’t.... So much of what he says just doesn’t hold up to any kind of scrutiny..... in this election process Trump consistently polls highest for lying... 1% of the facts he claimed could be labelled True. 41% were labelled “False” and 20% were outright lies...and then they change yet again because his views continue to change.

So if Trump doesn’t know what positions he firmly stands on.....and that he intends to be flexible if he’s Pres. Then you have no idea really what he’s going to do or not.

Not necessarily. Trump could still come up short since Cruz and Kasich would still be on the ballot. And by the standard you have already set for Kasich and Cruz, Trump should immediately withdraw in that event.
