AP declares Cruz mathematically eliminated from first-ballot delegate race

Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz is mathematically eliminated from winning the GOP nomination on the first ballot, according to the Associated Press.

GOP front-runner Donald Trump is now the only Republican candidate who can clinch the nomination before the GOP convention in July, as there aren’t enough remaining delegates for either Cruz or John Kasich to reach the 1,237 threshold.

“Anyway, if the Texas primary election was an indicator, he’ll get reelected despite your complaints.”

Maybe. Maybe not...

Every race depends on the competition. If Cruz has weak competition he will have no problem. Incumbency is also a huge hurdle for a challenger to overcome. Also, Texas has experienced a more conservative change in top state office holders, all of which are strongly supportive of Ted. Running for senator (or governor, as in Scott Walker’s case) is much different than running for president; the candidate’s appeal only has to pass muster in one state rather than all 50 plus islands. Trust me when I say as a Texan that Ted Cruz as a senator is so much better than what we had before, as sad as that sounds to some.

The Cruzaders are pretty “brave” in an isolated herd, aren’t they. Mostly they are noisy and brain washed.

Give it a couple of weeks or three.

I would be ashamed to be one of them. I believe that should TRUMP even lack a few, he can turn some delegates, and toss the fraud delegates from the floor.

Romney was allowed to do that to Ron Paul stealth delegates at the last convention.

Also, among those Cruzader delegates their will be plenty of stealth TRUMP supporters, who had to lie and claim they were Cruzaders, just to get slated.

When the GOPE delegates there crack, it will be over.

THanks, Shugee.

No Second Ballot is likely.

All of a sudden voting for Trump is becoming vital for a Republican victory in the general election. The last thing we need,at the convention is an obscene battle with DemonCraps cackling with glee all the way.

Once Trump gets his required delegates the other candidates should drop out. There won’t be a second vote.

Unlike Ted Cruz Kasich also appears to be running for VP

It’s looking likely that Kasich’s 66 Ohio delegates ALONE will be enough to put Trump over the top as the nominee.

I’ve been predicting a Trump/Kasich ticket for a while.

1) Trump is 66 or less short.
2) Kasich officially drops out before the 1st ballot.
3) Kasich’s 66 Ohio delegates are now bound to Trump on the 1st ballot.
4) Trump is now over the 1237 mark.
5) Kasich is announced as the VP.

Never has there been a more accurate post about this election. Lying Ted is today’s useful tool and will soon be discarded.

I tune in just for 5-10 minutes to see how unhinged he is each day. Levin has lost his mind right when he launched that stupid Internet channel of his and the current craziness can’t help him in this endeavor.
Tonight will be interesting for sure as he directs his ire towards 85% of NY primary voters... Lol. It’ll be funny I’m sure.

They didn’t have primaries in 1860. The first Presidential Primary didn’t occur for another 52 years in 1912.

"Levin, who I used to respect (with big reservations) has become absolutely PATHETIC in the past weeks, speaking on behalf of Cruz and trashing Trump. I have given up on him. He doesn’t even have the common sense to admit that Cruz can’t win even on the numbers, but that may change after last night’s NY Trump victory. Have to see if his tone is any different during tonight’s radio broadcast. I expect it will HAVE to be, or he’ll just risk looking TOTALLY ridiculous"

Agreed, big time. I hate saying this, but he's become an outright LIAR.

He is not worth the ink to print. Cruz has no chance per the vote count anymore. That being said a shady convention could do it.

Realistically they both need to drop out and support Trump. I say this as no fan of Trump but will vote for him in November

Let’s hope Ted takes the wiser course.
