Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)said Wednesday morning that a contested Republican convention is certain and that supporters of Donald Trump are ultimately helping Hillary Clinton reach the White House.

During a radio interview for a Philadelphia morning show, Cruz predicted with certainty that the Republican Party is “headed to a contested convention.” He suggests Trump supporters “might as well put a Hillary sticker on your car.”

It’s hilarious that you think demenTED could beat Hillary.

And yet you miraculously see Cruz as someone with incredible strength?

Were did I say that? I’m looking beyond the primary elections and looking towards the general

Neither has the base fully on board. Look at this site for proof.

Last time I looked at the caucus thread, Trump had five times the votes Cruz did.

That's not a split: that's a splinter group.

Trump does not have the full support of the base. Without it, he does not win. Period.

Just ask President Romney

Rafael and Hillary are both shills for Goldman so a vote for Rafael is an equivalent vote to Hillary.

I don't see how "looking towards the general" is of any utility, particularly at this point.

For a reasonable analog, I look to the California Recall election won by Schwarzenegger. The polls all said he was neck and neck with Bustemonte with 25-35% for each, yet Arnold took it with more than 48%.

I really believe the only reason the "Hillary beats no one but Trump" narrative only has legs is because it is the single piece of data the Trump opposition has to hang on to.

Gratuitous assertions can be just as gratuitously denied. That's the rule in logic.

Furthermore, Trump's crossover appeal is undeniable. The only argument that can be made is "will it be enough," and there really isn't any data to evaluate that question yet.

Trump CAN win without "the full support of the base;" all he needs is votes.

Personally, I like our chances with Trump.

Anecdotally, the ONLY one of my co-workers supporting Hillary over Trump is a shop steward, and he's visibly diffident about it in any sort of group setting.

I think this site does prove that Trump has the base.

I see strong support for Trump and many Cruz supporters recognizing that they need to get behind him.

I see it as about 70-30 for Trump.

Watch them go from, “ Trump will make up the loss of the conservative base with democrats” to “ we all MUST vote Trump to win”

***

It’s more like we don’t need YOU.

Because, let’s be honest, it’ll be far easier to befriend and bring one of Bernie’s disillusioned kids to the polls for Trump than to try to convince you, especially since you take pleasure in vindictively trying to hurt us.

Yup.

Convince yourself the Bernie voters will vote for Trump in droves. ROFLMAO!!
Didn’t Jeb also claim he could win without the base on board? If I recall, so did Romney and McCain.

Didn’t work out so well, did it?

And my prediction will come true. Bank on it

Yes, but for the fact that Trump HAS the base already.

He doesn’t have the bitter whiny brats like you who he would never have had in the first place.

Don’t cry that we aren’t going to soothe your electile dysfunction by trying to come begging to you. You have shown you prefer Hillary more than any Democrat voter because you hate Trump that much. Why waste our time on you?

Ted Cruz: Trump Supporters ‘Might as Well Put a Hillary Sticker on Your Car’

This ass--le is looking more like a fool every day.

Ted Cruz is going to get absolutely humiliaTED the rest of the way.

Good. He can go back to the Senate and run out the clock on the remainder of his fading political career.

Cruz's egotistical selfishness will be remembered. Cruz makes Trump's alleged narcissism look tame in comparison.

I don't know if I could vote for Cruz if he did get the nomination, at this point. Which he won't, of course.

Cruz has become an asshol- incarnate...

Vote Trump

Nice retort

Come back and talk when you’ve passed through puberty and can talk with reasoniing adults. Although, I suspect you’re incapable

Logical fallacy: Ad hominem!

So I take it that you concede my point.

Tell me, which of my arguments is wrong.

1: Trump already has the majority of the base. (Evidence: The neverTrumpers are under 20%, and he’s beaten Cruz in every demographic, and most Cruz supporters are willing to pull the lever for Trump.)

2: You’ll never vote for Trump. In fact, you get pleasure from hurting Trump supporters by your refusals.

3: Therefore, it is a waste of time for me to try to convince you to vote Trump. I would do better working on independents and disillusioned Bernie supporters.

But you didn’t refute any point; instead you called me a doo-doo head.

So I take it you’re conceding all my points. Argument over; I win.
