NBC Reporter: Cruz to Win Half Of Pennsylvania's Delegates, "Even If He Comes In Distant Third"
Real Clear Politics ^ | 4/19/2016 | Ian Schwartz

NBC's Hallie Jackson reports Cruz has changed his focus to Pennsylvania and making a play for the state's unbound delegates. Jackson, the network's Cruz correspondent, said even if Cruz has a third place finish in Pennsylvania's Republican primary, he'll win more than half the delegates.

"It's very telling that's Ted Cruz tonight is not in Brooklyn or Manhattan or any of the boroughs or state. He's in Pennsylvania," reported Jackson.

"He'll be in Philly for his watch party tonight," Jackson said. "That's indicative of where he and his campaign see this race going, to Pennsylvania, where they are looking to make a play for these unbound delegates. Even if they come in a distant third, a top campaign aide tells me, they will still, they believe, pick up more than half the delegates there."

Trump has 37% of the vote and thinks he’s entitled to the nomination. Cruz has 28% of the vote and he and his campaign are working hard to secure the delegates required to secure the nomination.

Cruz wins on second ballot. Trump will whine and cry. Losers usually do.

I am so amazed how people who do not live in Colorado, feel they have the right to tell Coloradans how they should run their delegate elections. Also, stop repeating the main stream media lies and learn the truth about what actually happened in Colorado.

We don’t complain about how your state does things, don’t tell us how to do ours. So bugger off.

>>Has Ted won a majority in 8 states yet?<<

Has Trump reached the 1237 threshold?

Majority of delegates - I think so, yes. Texas (104 of 155), Idaho (20 of 32), Wisconsin (36 of 42), Kansas (24 of 40), Maine (12 of 23), Colorado, Wyoming, Utah.

Rule 40(b) is amenable to revision before the convention, basically, it's best to assume there are no rules, except Convention procedure will not run by Roberts Rules of Order.

“So the only thing I hate more than this little turd’s snide contempt for the Republican base is his nostrils. They flare as his nerdiness projects his stink bug presence with each attack on Trump! - with each so expected attack on Trump his nostrils flare and it is really annoying.”

Yes, and add in his nausiating voice and the “picture” is complete! Shame on you Texas for “giving us” this worthless POS!

The Cruz campaign has devolved into a giant middle finger to the idea of representation.

Illegitimate caucus victories? Delegates he didn’t earn?

Does the Kool-Aid come in grape?

Cruz is likely going down in flames over the next few primaries, but I respect the man. He’s doing what he is supposed to do - understand the battlefield and deploying tactics to win. Should we expect Trump to do any less?

Yes, I’m going to be a sore loser holding my nose and voting for Trump. Hope he proves me wrong about him. Damn shame our opportunity to get a conservative elected is passing by.

The title is poorly written or very slanted.

Cruz can WIN nothing if he comes in third in Pennsylvania.

The fact that 54 of PA’s delegates are free means they are free now. One doesn’t ‘win’ them, instead arrangements are made with them.

Cruz's former boss, when he and his wife were legal GOPhers for the Bush dynasty.

T**** is being outsmarted. T**** thought he could do a big rally or two and go home and let it go at that. T**** wanted to do it the lazy way.

Cruz, on the other hand, pulled out the rule book and started working on this a year ago. Meeting delegates, talking with them and building an infrastructure.

T****, the lazy half-assed way. Cruz, thoughtful and strategic.

well seeing as he keep coming last in the swing states of , FL, OH, VA and has come last in so many other states and has only won 4 states including his own where the voters actually vote then the establishment must wake up and see their boy is stronger because he can pay off delegates for a general

Cruz is almost out of gas. Newt is right. He said something to the effect of its going to be close until Trump suddenly wins it. That’s what is about to happen. Cruzers are going to see how fast a campaign can unravel and die.

Yep....nothing like a campaign, with the media's complicity, denigrating a whole state for personal political profit.

If it's any consolation....they will forget all about Colorado should another state have a primary that doesn't work the way the mob thinks they should.

Yes, I suspect Cruzers will see that happen to Trumps' campaign. We are already seeing the signs of Trump unable to collect delegates and his resulting whining.

----------

That is the GOP version of the Democrat "super delegates" - a delegate system designed to be used by the party elites to ensure their power.
