Rush Limbaugh: The Two-Faced Pundit
Hotgas.net ^ | April 18, 2016 | Fossten

According to Rush Limbaugh, when Hillary opts to use the RULES to get what she wants, it’s bad. When Ted Cruz does it, it’s good. Rush has preached for years about the need for conservatives to go out and change the minds of the American people; that that is the true way to achieve everlasting change. He trumpeted this strategy as the reason for the 1994 Republican victory in the House. The reality is that Donald Trump is playing this game straight up. He is going to the voters and convincing them that his way is better than Cruz’s. He’s taking it directly to the people, not winning through shrewd political maneuvers.

Trump is everything Rush wants to be, but Rush is too lazy to do anything more than talk for cash

I have had the same thought. A few months ago, I imagined Donald & Rush together,
perhaps on a golf course, and I believe that Rush is not his own man in the way that
Trump is. Trump went out to make his fortune and he did it big. Then he jumped into the
political ring on the world's biggest stage. But Rush didn't make his own fortune in the
business world, and in politics he is on the periphery.

I don't discount the success Rush has rightly deserved from his own efforts, but they do
seem pale in contrast to the man who built a forune the old fashioned way, then ran for
president and set the world on fire in the process. The Man of Talk VS the Man of Action.

Trump is in his social circle. They golf together.

I will not attempt to persuade you to change your mind, or to re-think the accusations you make, because that will probably never happen! My mother told me many, many times..."You can convince a man against his will yet he's of the same opinion still!" And that is so absolutely true.

Wil Rogers also said..."It ain't what you don't know that hurts you, it's what you know that ain't so that hurts you!"

I remember Rush saying he would not run for president, he did not want the pay cut. And that he was not cut out to be a politician... Well, he has done a might fine job of talking for the politicians he supports. Rush has to talk really hard to get the drive-bys to take notice... Trump owns the drive-bys... It is like Trump has taken all the reliable media oxygen away from Rush. Cruz needs Rush to even be noticed, whereas Trump does not need anything from Rush... That must bite big time.

It's certain they've met. Likely that they've played a round of golf.

But it is obvious that Trump is not someone Rush socializes with. Rush has shown no insight into Trump, the person, whatsoever.

Can you cite specific examples of Limbaugh playing fast and loose with the truth, or were you just hoping to throw that out unchallenged?

Really? Trump more conservative than Limbaugh? I never heard of Limbaugh donating big money to leftists, supporting planned parenthood, supporting universal healthcare, supporting an assault weapons ban, etc.etc.etc.

The only thing Limbaugh is guilty of regarding Trump is expending WAY too much effort attempting to remain impartial and to avoid calling Trump out as the phony and the buffoon he is.

The fact that you don't find Cruz to be conservative "at all" should be an indicator as to how far you've allowed yourself to be divorced from reality to justify your cult-like support for that clown, Trump.

I didn’t know that Trump was screwing me over. Hows that?

Talk about a dodge... My dad would 'quote' Will Rogers, to me as well... strange thing, my father also looked and sounded enough like Will Rogers to be his brother. What I am discovering is that 'conservative' means what it means to whomever decides to use the word. There is no there, there. Conservative means, God, family, country... personal individual responsibility. Law and order, and no messing with the 'original intent' of the Constitution... Fairly simple.

So typically democrat of you. Either the current corrupt, rigged rules, or anarchy.

A complete lie since those aren't the only alternatives but what the Hell, just pretend that's the only choice and get back to your talking points.

As for Governor Moonbeam and illegals, how is disenfranchising legal voters any better ?

I never thought I’d say such a thing but I’m sick of hearing Rush.

Think about that for a minute.

You used to like to listen to him, then?

What changed?

When did it change?

Could it possibly be that it changed when you didn't hear him pay proper defferrence to Trump or when other Freepers started posting that Rush wasn't sufficiently on the Trump bandwagon?

I’m in MO as well :-)

I have lived in St Louis, Poplar Bluff and Cape Girardeau.

I lived in Cape while attending SEMO. Worked as a Phlebotomist at a local hospital and ran into Rush’s mom and dad there often. His dad was always getting dialysis and needed blood drawn. His grandpa had a law office just down the street from the hosp in a local bank building. Rush was not famous then, he was in baseball at the time.

I kind of miss living in Cape... a really nice little town...and they have a White Castle!!! Yum :-)

You guys are awfully tough on Rush. He’s not the leader of anything, he’s a guy doing a talk radio show. You all put too much stock in him.

We managed to elect Ronald Reagan without Rush Limbaugh’s help or Fox News or any of these other Conservative Celebrities who are actually as much of a plague as a benefit. They are in it to make a great living without having to break a sweat.

I stopped listening to Rush long ago when he stopped discussing the fag agenda, pushed NAFTA, droned on and on about football and cigars for way too long, and views politics as a horse race rather than addressing the fact that both parties are utterly destroying the US.

“question... can the California illegals vote in this republican primary?”

Since no one here does much in the way of verifying anything they can vote whenever and wherever and as much as they want. But the choonties I’ve talked to were Hillary supporters. Amazing how much they follow politics.

financial benefit that could encourage his behavior.

Rush has always been about self-branding. While a huge relief during the (First) Clinton Era, he's become a Florida New Yorker. Entirely untrustworthy, just looking out for his next "obscene profit center". Not that there's anything wrong with that, but to use talk radio hosts as ideological yard markers is a spurious exercise in laziness.

Did Limbaugh up until about a month ago. Switched to Laura Ingraham. Relevant, a bit younger, funnier, and a cancer survivor.

“Trump has actually been more conservative. I personally do not consider Cruz a conservative period”

BS. Trump supported and helped elect Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi, all extreme leftist.

Trump is a leftist and a socialist in the mold of Bernie Sanders.

When something big happened in the primary I’d eagerly tune in to Rush the next day to get his take on it.

It got to where what he said was such a turn-off that I just stopped listening. He would find a way to twist facts to support GOPee candidates. I just got tired of it as I consider the GOPee to be dangerous fools dreaming of open borders and a-path-to-democrat-voter-registration. :-(
