Hey, Ted Cruz: New York values are everywhere — and they work
Marketwatch ^ | 4/17/16 | Tim Mullaney

If the opinion polls are correct, Sen. Ted Cruz will be shown a thing or two on Tuesday by the New York voters he’s been insulting by going on about fellow Republican presidential contender Donald Trump’s “New York values.’’

Everyone knows what values he meant, Cruz says. We sure do. Cruz meant freedom, respect, diversity and striving. But he disdains those values when it means gays are free, women are respected, and immigrants strive. Unfortunately for Cruz, those all-inclusive values help build prosperity — and win national elections.

Here are some of our New York values:

Hard work. If you can do the job, you can have it. Thee same goes for a house, an apartment, or even a cake for a same-sex wedding. Offices and entire communities are better off because they’re open-minded to diversity. You can make it here — as long as you can do the work.

Everyone knows DeBlasio’s antisemitic, Commie, Sandinista values work everywhere. The Sandinistas, that DeBlasio volunteered to work for, burned Nicuragu’s only synagogue in their capital city because the Jews of Nicuragua were friendly to Samoza (perhapds because Samoza’s daddy helped Israel in 1948). This incredible evil is the big apple’s Mayor. Not to mention New York’s governor, who banned fracking, and told Conservatives to “take a hike” from the state.

Fxck nuts.. I’m not running for office so who I piss off I don’t give a rats ass and New York is a shxthole as is California and quite a few other states.

When you said: By contrast, your state could swing 5%+1 to 7.5%_1 and be Leftist.... Dumb ass statement. Maryland is a liberal shxthole always has been and probably always will be.

Yep the entire state in my opinion and there’s a lot more just like it. Run by idiots, outrageous taxes and deeply in debt much like the one I’m in which I hate and it’s getting worse.

"Except the other 49 states couldn’t give a damn, and Cruz was never going to win NY. It was Trump’s from day 1. This is about a 1 on a scale of 10. Maybe a 1 on the scale of a 100. If this is his biggest unforced error, he’s doing pretty good."

Don't know about that. Went to school with many Yanquis and they are provincially parochial about political insults. It was an unforced error by JeffRoe, to say the least...

It will be a cold day in hell when your ability to express a turn of phrase, speak the truth plainly yet elegantly and organize an argument is equal to Doughty One’s.

When I think of New York values, I think of the stench of urine in the NY City subway system.

Trump is playing right into the hands of the Soviet Union with his trashing of our electoral process. They have always told their people how crooked USA voting is—now they have an actual live kicking American saying worse things about it than the Commies say.

“Ted Cruz, a breath of fresh air in Upstate!

“..Yet, so many wonderful, hardworking New York natives have fled our state. Why? Because of corrupt, bullying dictator politics, over regulation, oppressive taxes, and zero job growth! So it was refreshing to have a level headed candidate, who actually respects the Constitution, come and address voters in our area. People in upstate are hurting economically and the power hungry Albany machine has done nothing to help.

Ted Cruz is morally grounded and reveres God. One of the things that is of utmost importance to the Christian voter is that he values protecting innocent life. Again, unlike New York blowhards-(Gov. Cuomo, Kirsten Gillibrand, Chuck Schumer, and Paul Tonko) Ted Cruz is opposed to abortion. He actually takes to heart and respects that God is the creator of life…all life!

While our own ‘Dictator in Chief’ (Andrew Cuomo) wastes his time, and our money, making ridiculous travel bans to Mississippi and North Carolina, and has repeatedly told fellow conservative New Yorkers we aren’t welcome here….Ted Cruz focuses on smaller Government, tax alleviation, and job creation- something conservatives have been longing to hear from a serious candidate. Conservatives understand that in order to see any economy thrive we need to stop over-regulation and decrease the taxes. (snip)”

It’s kinda funny that New York is trying to battle the Carolinas for jobs.

They are getting their ass kicked because of greed at the top and greed alone.

Get bent NYC, Albany and I hope the transplants learn that lesson.

Wouldn’t you just be in favor of people that can start a business and not let a gubermint not bankrupt your state due to political greed?

Hey, Ted Cruz: New York values are everywhere — and they work

Yes, they worked very well in electing Bill "Warren Wilhelm" de Blasio, that great conservative mayor of NYC.

This was a major misstatement by Cruz. It not only doesn’t play well in NY, but the entire northeast. This is an area that elects “conservatives” like Scott Brown, Chris Christie, Susan Collins, Lincoln Chaffee, Mitt Romney, ect. Heck Donald Trump is miles more conservative.

This is a heavily populated area that is delegate rich. Cruz’ NY values statement is going to prove to be very costly to his campaign

Absolutely correct. Great post. Should be sent out to the state of NY. Not all NY’ers are liberals. He never questioned their courage or patriotism. However, after watching the people they select for government, it's seems obvious that the major are represented by your analysis.
